The Role

THE OPPORTUNITY:
This remote opportunity is open to candidates residing anywhere in the United States or Canada.
The Senior Product Owner is responsible for the continuous delivery of value to the market, customers, and users for their products. They engage their stakeholders in making data-driven decisions regarding which features and functionality to build and the order in which to build them. The senior product owner is responsible for the entire product lifecycle and the overall success of their products and the VelocityEHS platform in the market. They are responsible for acting as the product owner on their scrum teams, effectively collaborating with the development team to ensure they rapidly build what customers and the market need.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Creates technical backlog items and can communicate to management
  • Understands the architecture enough to coordinate and collaborate with multiple teams
  • Leads scrum activities
  • Able to communicate scope changes and impact to scrum team
  • Interprets stakeholder feedback
  • Holds others accountable for meeting dates
  • Leads go-to-market discussions and activities
  • Identifies topics that require group discussions
  • Works cross-functionally knowing who to talk to from other departments to achieve goals
  • Conducts root cause analysis
  • Ability to join customer calls
  • Recognizes when change is needed and why it is needed
  • Recommends changes based on data or fact based opinions
  • Takes preventative steps to avoid repeat problems to products, services, and work environment
  • Develops solutions to recurring problems
  • Contributes to and follows up on improvements discovered in retrospectives


Minimum Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent industry experience
  • Min 5+ years of product management experience
  • Advanced knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle
  • Experience with Enterprise SaaS solutions
  • Experience with reporting and data analytics
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Fluent in technical jargon


Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience in Project Management
  • Experience with Account Management Systems
