The Role

We are seeking an experienced Oracle EBS Product Owner to lead the strategy, development, and continuous improvement of our Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) ecosystem. This role will be responsible for managing end-to-end business processes within Oracle EBS for the IP Segment, with a strong focus on Order to Cash (O2C) processes, ensuring alignment with business objectives, driving automation and efficiency, and enhancing system capabilities. The Oracle EBS Product Owner will serve as the primary liaison between business stakeholders, technical teams, and third-party vendors, ensuring the successful delivery of Oracle EBS solutions, particularly in managing patents, renewals, and associated financial processes.

About You – experience, education, skills, and accomplishments

  • BS Degree or additional amount of experience in lieu of a degree
  • Minimum of 7 years experience in a Product Owner, ERP Manager, Business Systems Analyst, or related role with a strong focus on Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS)
  • Extensive knowledge of Oracle EBS configuration, workflows, saved searches, reporting, scripting capabilities and integrations
  • Proven ability to own and drive large-scale Oracle EBS initiatives, managing cross-functional stakeholders and technical teams.

  • Deep understanding of core business processes such as Order to Cash, Procure to Pay, Record to Report, Financial Reporting, and Inventory Management
  • Ability to analyze complex business problems, define clear requirements, and translate them into effective Oracle EBS solutions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.

What will you be doing in this role? 

  • Own and manage the Oracle EBS platform strategy and roadmap, ensuring alignment with business goals and scalability needs.
  • Serve as the primary product owner for Oracle EBS within the organization, working closely with cross-functional teams to define system requirements, prioritize enhancements, and implement best-in-class solutions.
  • Act as the key liaison between finance, legal, procurement, operations, sales, IT, and executive leadership, gathering business requirements, translating them into technical specifications, and ensuring solutions meet business needs.
  • Maintain and continuously refine the Oracle EBS product backlog, prioritizing based on business impact, feasibility, and strategic objectives.
  • Define and document business processes, system workflows, and functional requirements to optimize Oracle EBS performance, particularly in managing patent lifecycles, renewals, compliance tracking, and Order to Cash processes.
  • Collaborate with solution architects, developers, and system administrators to design, test, and deploy enhancements, integrations, and customizations.
  • Lead Agile development efforts, participating in sprint planning, daily standups, backlog grooming, retrospectives, and stakeholder demos.
  • Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of Oracle EBS configurations, including workflows, reports, dashboards, roles, permissions, and custom scripts.
  • Identify and drive process improvements and automation initiatives, ensuring that Oracle EBS is leveraged effectively to enhance operational efficiency and reduce manual effort, especially within the Order to Cash cycle.
  • Ensure seamless integrations between Oracle EBS and other enterprise applications (e.g., CRM, procurement systems, analytics platforms) by defining integration requirements and collaborating with technical teams.
  • Optimize Order to Cash workflows, including order management, invoicing, collections, revenue recognition, and cash application, ensuring efficiency and accuracy.
  • Partner with finance, legal, and compliance teams to ensure Oracle EBS meets regulatory requirements and supports audit readiness, especially in managing intellectual property assets and revenue processes.
  • Monitor system performance and data integrity, proactively identifying and resolving issues to ensure platform stability and reliability.
  • Develop and deliver training, documentation, and change management strategies, ensuring business users effectively adopt and utilize Oracle EBS capabilities.
  • Provide regular reporting and updates to leadership on Oracle EBS performance, roadmap progress, key initiatives, and risks.
  • Manage relationships with third-party vendors, system integrators, and implementation partners, ensuring successful project execution and ongoing platform support.
  • Evaluate and recommend new features, technologies, and third-party applications that enhance Oracle EBS functionality and align with business objectives.
  • Leverage data and analytics to drive decision-making, optimize system usage, and improve reporting capabilities.
