The Data Product Owner is responsible for managing the lifecycle of the data product, ensuring data’s effective use, high quality, and alignment with AAC business objectives; supporting current operational needs and future strategic capabilities. The Data Product Owner defines the data product roadmap, executes adaptive prioritization, engages effectively with their business stakeholders, accomplishes effective product vendor management, and drives the delivery of technical data solutions that exceed the business/ customer expectations – balancing near-term value realization with long-term scalability and sustainability.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Data Champion

  • Champions data quality by establishing clear standards, partnering with data owners to prioritize remediation, and ensuring trusted, fit-for-purpose data that meets user needs and AAC business objectives

  • Drives data usage and data literacy by facilitating collaboration across Business Delivery Teams, Business Stakeholders, and delivery partners to increase visibility, prioritize high-value data work, and enable understanding and adoption of data products

Product Feature Scope Definition and Prioritization

  • Bridges the gap between long-term roadmaps and day-to-day execution, ensuring that APIs, data systems, and complex network dependencies are prioritized to meet evolving customer needs

  • Creates, defines scope and prioritizes the data workstream including Azure DevOps features, user stories and defects based on the business value, customer needs, technical feasibility, resource utilization and most importantly the return of investment to the customer/ business

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Serves as the primary liaison between the AAC business/ customer and the development teams to effectively deliver data solutions throughout all AAC business capabilities

  • Provides clear and effective communication related to the data roadmap, data optimizations opportunities (art of the possible), data workstream execution timelines and data quality

Product Vendor Management:

  • Provides clear and effective communication related to the data roadmap, data optimizations opportunities (art of the possible), data workstream execution timelines and data quality

Product and Business Knowledge:

  • Maintains an awareness of technology solutions related to data management through trainings, collaborations with other farm credit/ financial resources and individual research and investigations.

  • Maintains a strong understanding of AAC business processes and procedures as well as how the end users/ customers actually use the data through AAC business capabilities

Development Team Leadership

  • Acts as the liaison between business stakeholders and the development team by translating the data vision into a clear roadmap, prioritized work items, and sprint plans

  • Partners with business stakeholders, the development team, and delivery partners to align expectations and coordinate solution release timelines

  • Enables the team to meet sprint commitments by surfacing and helping remove delivery impediments, and by continuously clarifying business needs, priorities, and timing expectations for the technology team

  • Foster an environment that encourages collaboration, iterative continuous improvement, learning from obstacles and errors, and the utilization of team and stakeholder feedback to drive improvement of the development team’s value delivery effectiveness

  • Adopts an active role in 24 X 7 support by the prioritization and facilitation of short-term and long-term defects and outage resolutions

  • Travel may be required in performance of job

  • Perform other functions as assigned


LEVELS OF SUPERVISION EXERCISED AND RECEIVED:

This position will work at the direction of the Head of Product Management

TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • 5 or more years of experience as a product owner, data manager, data analyst, business analyst or other technical leadership role

  • Bachelor’s degree is desired.

  • Certification in Product Ownership preferred but not required.

  • Strong understanding of technology tools and concepts related to data management

  • Experience in Farm Credit and/or Financial Services related data management is desired, but not required

  • Ability to build strong interpersonal relationships with business delivery teams, leadership, senior management, and internal/external stakeholders.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in organizing and prioritizing work to meet deadlines

  • Understanding of practical application of agile methodologies and other product delivery methodologies

  • Proven ability to clearly define a set of requirements that pinpoint business challenges and identify technical, and business changes required to address them.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate clearly and concisely across technology and business teams.

  • Ability to navigate and resolve disagreements constructively

  • Demonstrated analytical and statistical skills to evaluate, prioritize and categorize data in various formats for reports.

  • Proficient computer skills, Microsoft office suite, and applicable databases.


JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Must have the ability to perform basic office tasks and sit at a desk for an extended period of time. Job requires extensive use of computers and phones. While performing the job, the employee is required to sit, crouch, kneel, crawl, reach and have the ability to lift up to 40 pounds. Ability to work with typical hardware and cabling practices required. Must have strong written and verbal communication skills to adequately convey ideas and work well with a team. Ability to talk and hear, sit and use their hands and fingers, and reach in all directions is essential in performance of the job. Must be able to interact effectively with people at all levels of company. Work during established business hours and may require occasional weekend and/or evening work.

FULL-TIME REMOTE: These roles and job functions can be done remotely, while maintaining our strong commitment to customer service and our business goals. Employees are welcome to come to an office to work if needed, and some travel for team meetings will be required.

PAY RANGE:

Minimum $118,705.62 - Max $201,799.54 Annual

This range is reflective of the national salary average for this position and will be adjusted using geographic variance for physical location of the hired candidate. American AgCredit may compensate outside of the salary range for bona fide reasons not related to membership in a protected class.

  • Compensation, title, and job level may be adjusted based on candidate qualifications including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location.

  • Salary offered, within the applicable range, is one component of the total rewards package offered to candidates.
