ABOUT US

We’re the world’s leading provider of secure financial messaging services, headquartered in Belgium. We are the way the world moves value – across borders, through cities and overseas. No other organisation can address the scale, precision, pace and trust that this demands, and we’re proud to support the global economy.

We’re unique too. We were established to find a better way for the global financial community to move value – a reliable, safe and secure approach that the community can trust, completely. We’re always striving to be better and are constantly evolving in an ever-changing landscape, without undermining that trust. Five decades on, our vibrant community reflects the complexity and diversity of the financial ecosystem. We innovate diligently, test exhaustively, then implement fast. In a connected and exciting era, our mission has never been more relevant. Swift now has a presence in 200+ countries and legal territories to serve a community of more than 12,000 banks and financial institutions.

We are looking for a Senior Product Owner to join the PAG‑DMC Core squad, a key team within the AU‑NPP programme.

The squad owns an installer-based product and is responsible for driving both functional and non‑functional evolutions on the AU‑NPP roadmap, including performance testing and benchmark execution.

This is a senior role that requires strong product leadership, technical understanding, and the ability to steer priorities in a complex and fast‑paced environment.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience (typically 8+ years) as a Product Owner or Product Manager in complex technology environments
  • Proven ability to own and prioritise functional and non‑functional requirements (performance, scalability, resilience, security)
  • Experience with performance testing, benchmarks, or large‑scale system validation is a strong asset
  • Comfortable working with senior technical stakeholders and challenging assumptions when needed
  • Pragmatic, structured, and outcome‑driven, with a strong sense of accountability
  • Excellent communication skills, able to operate from squad to senior‑stakeholder level

Key Responsibilities

  • Product ownership & roadmap
  • Own and drive the product roadmap for the PAG‑DMC Core installer-based product in alignment with the AU‑NPP programme objectives
  • Prioritise the squad backlog to balance new capabilities, platform improvements, and technical sustainability
  • Act as the single point of accountability for product decisions within the squad

Delivery & quality

  • Own and accept delivery of features and changes at sprint and release level
  • Lead the planning, execution, and follow‑up of performance tests and benchmarks, ensuring results are actionable and aligned with platform expectations
  • Ensure quality, stability, performance, and security are built into the product by design
  • Act as owner of product and technical escalations related to the squad scope

Stakeholder collaboration

  • Work closely with engineering, architecture, testing, and programme stakeholders
  • Align dependencies and priorities with other squads contributing to the AU‑NPP ecosystem
  • Provide clear and structured communication on roadmap, risks, and outcomes

Leadership & ways of working

  • Provide strong product leadership within the squad, fostering ownership and clarity of purpose
  • Contribute to cross‑squad and tribe‑level alignment on priorities and product direction
  • Act as a role model for senior product ownership practices within the organisation

Working environment

  • Operate effectively in a delivery‑driven environment, with the ability to manage priorities, make decisions, and remain effective under pressure, particularly around delivery milestones and critical phases
