Remitly's Accounting Product team enables the company's mission by delivering the systems that ensure every customer transaction is accurately recorded, reconciled, and reported. The team builds the platforms that allow Finance to manage risk, close the books with confidence, and scale Remitly's business across remittance and emerging product lines.
We are rebuilding our ledger platform, which will serve as the foundation for financial reporting, accounting automation, and reconciliation. This role will be pivotal in defining accounting requirements and shaping ledger capabilities that are accurate, auditable, resilient, and aligned with accounting principles, while balancing the ongoing needs of our legacy subledger to support existing products and business growth.
As the Senior Product Manager for Accounting, you will report directly to the Global Senior Manager of Product - you will define the strategy for Remitly's accounting platforms, drive cross functional initiatives, and partner closely with Engineering, Accounting, Finance, and product teams. You will ensure first time quality data, automated processes, and scalable technology that supports both today's volume and tomorrow's product expansion.
This is a hybrid position in the Remitly Krakow office.
You Will:
- Lead the definition and delivery of the new ledger platform and ensure accounting requirements, controls, and data quality needs are deeply reflected in its architecture across all Remitly product lines.
- Translate product and system movements into accurate and complete ledger entries, including revenue, losses, promotions, fees, and journal entry aggregation.
- Balance short term needs of the legacy subledger with the long term platform vision, continually reducing risk, resolving month end close blockers, and enabling new business line expansion.
- Define a multi year strategy and roadmap with clear success metrics and regularly communicate progress, risks, and outcomes to senior stakeholders and executive leadership.
- Improve the responsiveness and delivery velocity of the Accounting tech portfolio by identifying automation opportunities and accelerating durable solutions for Accounting operations.
- Partner with Engineering on the right trade offs between incremental delivery and foundational investments to ensure sustainable platform growth.
- Own Accounting's product backlog, develop clear requirements, and drive execution to ensure reliable, first time quality delivery at scale.
You Have:
- 5+ years of product management experience with meaningful exposure to Accounting, financial systems, or other domains that require precision, controls, and data integrity.
- Experience partnering closely with Accounting and Finance teams to translate accounting requirements into scalable product capabilities.
- A Experience using data and insights to inform product development foundation with proficiency in using data, metrics, and qualitative insights to guide decisions, measure outcomes, and improve product quality.
- A track record of defining product roadmaps, managing complex technical initiatives, and working closely with engineering teams to deliver reliable platforms.
- Effectively navigating ambiguity, breaking down complex accounting or system problems, and driving clarity and alignment across cross functional teams.
- Experience communicating complex technical concepts to a variety of audiences, including the ability to support and drive decision making with senior leaders and collaborate across business, technical, and compliance partners.
- A bachelor's degree in business, accounting, engineering, computer science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
