Senior Product Manager

VAST Data is seeking an experienced Product Manager to lead the strategy and lifecycle of the server platforms that power the VAST AI OS.

THE ROLE:



This role focuses on defining and managing the server, storage media, and networking configurations that run the VAST AI OS. You will work closely with engineering, operations, OEM partners, and the field organization to ensure the right platforms are developed, validated, available, and prioritized to support customer deployments worldwide.

We’re looking for someone who combines strong technical depth in modern server infrastructure with the product discipline needed to align internal teams and external partners. This role requires balancing long-term platform strategy with near-term operational realities such as sourcing, allocations, and field requirements.

The ideal candidate understands the intersection of hardware platforms and large-scale distributed software systems, and can translate evolving technology trends in servers, networking, and storage media into a clear platform roadmap that supports the continued growth of the VAST AI OS ecosystem.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Work with engineering teams to define requirements and specifications for next-generation platforms optimized for VAST software workloads.
• Partner with OEM vendors and hardware partners to ensure platform availability, compatibility, and long-term roadmap alignment.
• Collaborate with operations and supply teams to prioritize hardware sourcing, platform availability, and lifecycle management.
• Own the validation and qualification roadmap for supported hardware platforms.
• Work closely with field sales and solution teams to support platform enablement, scoping, and deployment guidance for customers.
• Translate field requirements and customer use cases into platform priorities and roadmap decisions.
• Track emerging trends in server architecture, storage media (QLC/flash technologies), networking, and accelerators that may impact future platform design.
• Support launch readiness and internal enablement for new hardware platforms and configurations.

• 5+ years of product management or technical product leadership experience in infrastructure platforms.
• Strong technical background in server architecture, networking, storage media, or data center infrastructure.
• Experience working with hardware vendors, OEMs, or system integrators.
• Understanding of modern data center architectures and large-scale distributed systems.
• Ability to translate infrastructure technology trends into product strategy and platform roadmaps.
• Experience working with engineering, operations, supply chain, and field organizations.
• Proven ability to drive scale through documentation and efficient processes.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Background working with enterprise storage, distributed systems, or high-performance data platforms.
