Key Responsibilities:
- Own the API & Integration Platform Strategy: Define and evolve the strategy and roadmap for Deputy’s API platform and integration marketplace, ensuring alignment with broader business goals and customer needs.
- Drive Strategic Integration Initiatives: Identify, prioritize, and deliver native integrations with key HRIS, Payroll, Point of Sale, and other workforce-related systems that unlock value for Deputy’s customers and partners.
- Collaborate with External Partners and ISVs: Work directly with our technology partners and third-party developers to define integration requirements, co-create solutions, and foster long-term partnerships.
- Represent the Voice of the Customer: Develop a deep understanding of the integration needs of midmarket and enterprise customers across different verticals. Use insights from customer conversations, usage data, and competitive analysis to inform product decisions.
- Champion Developer Experience: Drive improvements across our developer-facing touchpoints—including API documentation, onboarding flows, SDKs, webhooks, and sandbox environments—to reduce friction and encourage adoption.
- Define and Monitor Success Metrics: Establish clear KPIs for platform adoption, integration usage, developer satisfaction, and business impact. Use data to inform trade-offs and continuously improve product outcomes.
- Align Cross-Functional Teams: Collaborate with design, marketing, sales, support, and partnerships to ensure a seamless experience from discovery to deployment—for both customers and partners.
- Evangelize the Platform Vision: Promote a platform-first mindset across Deputy and the broader ecosystem. Communicate the long-term vision of our API and integration strategy to both internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
- 5+ years of product management experience, with at least 2-3+ years leading technical API or Platform products.
- Proven success building APIs, SDKs, or developer tools in a B2B SaaS or platform company
- with the ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications.
- Demonstrated experience with building or maintaining API integrations, ideally in workforce management, HRIS, Payroll, Point-of-Sale or adjacent domains.
- Solid technical knowledge of REST APIs, Webhooks, OAuth, and modern integration architectures and development patterns.
- Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills with both internal teams and with our external partners and developers.
- Natural ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and rally partners around a shared vision.
- Deep understanding of Workforce Management concepts (ie Scheduling, Time & Attendance, Leave and Payroll) is highly desirable.
- Customer-first mindset combined with strong product instincts and a bias for action.
