Role Overview
We’re looking for a Senior Product Manager, who will deeply understand Second Life’s features, use cases, and community culture to define and drive the product roadmap while utilizing AI to create a more user-friendly and accessible global virtual world. This person will shape product vision and strategy, collaborating with product, design, engineering, and marketing teams to deliver engaging, immersive virtual worlds. You will Lead cross-functional teams through all phases of APIs, frontend and backend product development; leveraging product management, technical expertise, and business acumen. You will communicate and present product initiatives and results across the company, including to leadership.This is a great opportunity for a thought leader with strong technical acumen, exceptional communication skills, and thoughtful execution.

As a Senior Product Manager, you’ll utilize in-depth product knowledge to successfully drive key projects on Second Life. You’ll work alongside a supportive team of people across engineering, design, QA, and other cross-functional teams to build products and new experiences and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the original metaverse. What You’ll Achieve
- Clarify, simplify, prioritize, and deliver impactful projects and features by leveraging your product management, technical knowledge, and business acumen. You will manage the production of new features from concept through completion, as well as product updates and revisions to longstanding systems and infrastructure.
- Oversee, plan, and execute projects: production schedules, resourcing, and quality assurance against quantifiable goals. Immerse yourself in Second Life to attain a deep understanding of the feature set and use cases and learn the culture by getting to know the user community.
- Assist the Product Team in the creation and management of strategic plans and influence technical strategy in the context of broader organizational strategies and goals.
- Collaborate across teams to define areas needed for product improvement and prioritize easy-to-use product features that enable a delightful user experience to drive revenue, adoption, and usage.
- Identify key needs and define the product strategy with internal teams, helping to develop the product positioning, key benefits, and target customer.
- Promote the value of the core experience of Second Life to other parts of Linden Lab, and help ensure the Product leverages the ideas and resources of the larger organization.
- Cultivate collaborative and productive working relationships with a diverse group of internal stakeholders and embrace healthy conflict rooted in mutual respect and trust.
- Invest in the growth and development of the team through active mentorship and knowledge sharing.
- Deliver excellent consumer-facing products within infrastructure and internal tools for Second Life teams and users.
What You’ll Bring to the Team

- 8+ years of Product Management experience delivering high-quality consumer apps across platforms, with a focus on social digital products.
- A self-motivated, organized, and collaborative approach, thriving in unstructured environments and navigating healthy conflict to drive results.
- Proven experience with internal tools, workflows, product specs, A/B testing, and improving operational efficiency.
- Expertise in end-to-end product development, from design to deployment, managing complex projects with competing priorities.
- Willingness to explore AI-driven methods for process and product optimization.
- Proficiency in integrating open-source contributions into internal roadmaps.
- Familiarity with client-side software, API design, and 3D virtual world simulations.
- Experience working with C++, Python, MySQL, DocumentDB, GitHub actions, and the Gitflow workflow.
- Strong background in metrics-driven development, goal setting, experimentation, and growth strategies.
- Mobile development and vendor management experience, along with proficiency with GitHub.
- Analytical skills to use data to support recommendations and improve customer experience.
- Problem-solving mindset, comfortable with ambiguity, and not afraid to fail for long-term success.
- Ability to work both synchronously and asynchronously.

The Fine Print
Pay Transparency Notice
Linden’s Total Rewards philosophy ensures a fair, equitable, and unbiased approach to compensation along with competitive benefits in all locations in which we operate.
In this San Francisco Bay Area-based role, the salary range for this position is $143,000 - $193,000, with a midpoint of $168,000.
We enter new hires between the minimum and the midpoint of the applicable geo-defined range. Our talent partners will discuss this in more detail during the hiring process. Actual base pay within this range is dependent on many factors, including experience, competencies, skills, internal equity, and calibration of market data. In addition to base pay, this position is eligible to receive awards under the equity incentive plan (EIP) + generous benefits program, including comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and 401(k).
