dLocal is the payments infrastructure powering the world's leading global companies in emerging markets. Our Virtual Accounts product enables enterprise merchants to issue unique, persistent payment identifiers to their own customers across markets creating a scalable, card-free collection channel that works with local banking rails.
As Senior PM for Virtual Accounts, you will own end-to-end the product strategy, roadmap, and execution of one of dLocal's highest-growth product lines. You'll work at the intersection of global enterprise merchant needs and local market banking infrastructure — defining how dLocal's B2B2C merchants issue virtual accounts in countries where traditional card infrastructure is limited or absent. This role has direct commercial impact on dLocal's TPV growth and merchant retention, and will be a key driver of our embedded finance expansion.
What will I be doing?
Own the global roadmap for the Virtual Accounts product, prioritising features that reduce time-to-market per country, improve merchant self-service, and increase activation rates across dLocal's 40+ markets.
Partner with enterprise merchants (global fintechs, gig platforms, e-commerce, lending companies) to deeply understand their VA use cases — from subscription collection to payroll disbursement — and translate those into product requirements.
Lead cross-functional squads to deliver scalable, production-ready VA features with clear SLAs.
Define and improve the end-to-end merchant experience: VA issuance API, reconciliation reporting, webhook reliability, dashboard visibility, and fraud controls.
Work with Banking Partnerships and Regulatory teams to expand VA coverage to new markets, navigating local banking sponsors, compliance requirements, and technical constraints.
Establish and monitor key product metrics (VA issuance volume, payment conversion rate, reconciliation accuracy, merchant NPS) and use them to drive continuous improvement.
Identify and lead automation opportunities in VA lifecycle management — from provisioning to settlement — reducing manual operational load and error rates.
Collaborate with Sales and Solutions Engineering to position and pitch the VA product to prospective enterprise clients, supporting commercial deals and RFP responses.
What skills do I need?
5+ years of product management experience, with at least 2 years specifically building or scaling virtual account, banking-as-a-service, or account issuance products in a B2B or B2B2C context.
Deep understanding of local payment rails in emerging markets and how they interact with global merchant platforms.
Proven track record working with enterprise clients and translating complex, ambiguous B2B requirements into clear, scalable product solutions.
Strong technical fluency: comfortable reading API documentation, understanding IPN/webhook flows, and collaborating closely with engineering on architecture decisions without being a blocker.
Experience navigating multi-stakeholder environments — banking partners, compliance, engineering, commercial — and driving alignment across them.
Data-driven and AI mindset: you define success metrics before building, run structured experiments, and make decisions backed by evidence rather than instinct alone.
Automation-oriented: you proactively seek to reduce manual processes, improve operational efficiency, and leverage tooling to scale without proportional headcount growth.
