WHO WE ARE:
Zinnia is the leading technology platform for accelerating life and annuities growth. With innovative enterprise solutions and data insights, Zinnia simplifies the experience of buying, selling, and administering insurance products. All of which enables more people to protect their financial futures. Our success is driven by a commitment to three core values: be bold, team up, deliver value – and that we do. Zinnia has over $180 billion in assets under administration, serves 100+ carrier clients, 2500 distributors and partners, and over 2 million policyholders.
WHO YOU ARE:
As Senior Product Manager for Customer Identity & Access Management (CIAM), you will own the roadmap for how carriers, distributors, partners, and policyholders securely access Zinnia’s platform. You will lead the identity product area end to end — authentication, authorization, and the full user lifecycle — balancing strong security and regulatory compliance with a frictionless experience across Zinnia’s products. You will partner closely with Engineering and Security, and work across Zinnia’s Product Organization to keep the identity experience aligned with company strategy while delivering measurable value.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
- Own the CIAM product roadmap and strategy spanning consumer (policyholder), partner (distributor/agent), and workforce identity across Zinnia’s platform.
- Lead the product direction for core identity capabilities — authentication (SSO, MFA, passwordless, adaptive/risk-based), authorization (RBAC/ABAC, fine-grained and delegated access), and the full user lifecycle (registration, provisioning/SCIM, recovery, deprovisioning).
- Set standards and technical direction around modern identity protocols (OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, SAML, SCIM) in partnership with Engineering and Architecture.
- Drive build-vs-buy and platform decisions for identity providers and services, and own the integration strategy across Zinnia products.
- Balance security, privacy, and usability — reducing friction while protecting against account takeover, credential stuffing, fraud, and abuse.
- Partner closely with Security, Risk, and Compliance to ensure the identity platform meets regulatory and industry obligations applicable to the insurance industry (data security, privacy, and authentication assurance).
- Define and track success metrics — authentication success and abandonment, MFA adoption, account-takeover reduction, time-to-provision, and partner onboarding.
- Act as a technical consultant to the product organization on identity, and mentor a lean team of Product Managers.
- Serve as a customer liaison on identity-related integration, custom development, and requirements for carriers and distributors.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
- 9+ years across solid Techno-functional Product Management.
- Bachelor’s / Master’s or equivalent degree in technology or a related field.
- Deep, hands-on understanding of modern identity standards and protocols: OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, SAML, SCIM, and session/token management.
- Experience with CIAM/IAM platforms and identity providers (e.g., Okta/Auth0, Ping, ForgeRock, Microsoft Entra / Azure AD B2C, or equivalent).
- Strong grasp of authentication and authorization models (SSO, MFA, passwordless, adaptive auth, RBAC/ABAC) and account-security threats.
- Solid understanding of security, privacy, and regulatory/compliance requirements in a regulated industry (data-security, privacy, and authentication-assurance frameworks).
- Hands-on understanding of API integration, SQL, and data analysis.
- Strong understanding of the SDLC, technology system interfaces, and data integration.
- Ability to influence and lead across Product, Engineering, and Security in a global, cross-functional setting.
- Expert-level experience with Agile delivery methodologies (Scrum/Kanban) and related tooling.
- Experience mentoring Product Managers.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills; comfortable operating with a high degree of latitude on the most complex, ambiguous problems.
- Experience in the Life & Annuity or broader financial-services industry is preferred, not mandatory.
