As a product leader for Box Search, you will shape the vision and evolution of critical features that empower our users to discover and access their content with speed and precision.

You'll be responsible for everything from understanding the diverse needs of our admin and end-user personas, to defining intuitive customer experiences including APIs, and ensuring that everything is delivered with the performance, resiliency, and security that our enterprise customers depend on. You will work closely with our talented Poland-based Search engineering team.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Define the product strategy and roadmap for Box's Search capabilities, identifying opportunities to enhance content discoverability, search relevance, and user experience.
  • Drive requirements for core Search features (e.g., semantic search, intelligent ranking, and personalized results).
  • Deeply understand and advocate for both admin and end-user personas, translating their diverse use cases into compelling product requirements.
  • Discover, collect, analyze, and communicate problems and opportunities related to the search experience at Box, leveraging data to inform decisions.
  • Prioritize between requirements and work with engineering teams on fiscal year, quarterly, and Agile planning.
  • Champion ideas to provide continuous improvements to the Search platform at Box.
  • Partner closely with other Product Managers, Engineering leaders, and cross-functional stakeholders across the company to align roadmaps, scope, and prioritize capabilities to power the overall Box content platform.
  • Engage directly with customers to understand their evolving needs, gather feedback, and validate product concepts.
  • Effectively communicate product strategy, vision, and day-to-day progress to various audiences, from engineering teams to executive leadership.

WHO YOU ARE

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Product Management, or equivalent experience in related fields.
  • 5-7 years of experience as a Product Manager, Product Owner (in Agile), or a similar role in a software company, with a strong focus on search, information retrieval, or discovery products.
  • You demonstrate an in-depth understanding of search technologies, indexing, ranking algorithms, and query processing.
  • You possess excellent communication skills, capable of articulating complex strategies and day-to-day details clearly and concisely to diverse audiences.
  • You are adept at engaging with customers, actively listening to their needs, and translating them into actionable product insights.
  • You have strong people skills, enabling you to build effective relationships and collaborate seamlessly with multiple stakeholders across product, engineering, sales, and customer success teams.
  • You have a solid technical background, allowing you to understand platform capabilities, technical constraints, and engage effectively with engineering teams.
  • You have experience working in a highly cross-functional environment.
  • You have an innate curiosity and ability to dive deep into product and technical architecture.
  • You know how to leverage data effectively to inform decisions, set requirements, and evaluate success.
  • You love inspiring teams, managing complexity, driving operational excellence, and delivering extraordinary results.

ADDITIONAL POINTS FOR

  • Experience with large-scale search platforms (e.g., Elasticsearch, Solr, or similar technologies).
  • Familiarity with machine learning applications in search, such as learning-to-rank, natural language processing (NLP), or semantic search.
  • Experience with cloud-native technologies and distributed systems.
  • Understanding of content management systems and enterprise software.
  • Knowledge of search analytics and relevance tuning methodologies.
