Tabs is the AI Operating System for Revenue, built for modern finance and accounting teams. It combines deep revenue and accounting expertise with the agents and applications needed to run revenue work end to end. Tabs understands customer and contract context, applies accounting logic, and executes critical workflows with built in controls, auditability, and human oversight. With Tabs, finance teams can move from manually managing revenue workflows to directing outcomes while the system executes the work.
About the RoleWe're looking for a Senior Product Manager to own Revenue at Tabs: the system that turns performance obligations and usage data into recognized revenue a finance team can close the month on and an auditor can sign off on.
Audit-defensible revenue recognition is core to what Tabs does. You'll own the recognition engine across methods, the ASC 606 treatment that drives it (SSP allocation, variable consideration, contract modifications), and the audit trail and controls that make the numbers defensible. You'll report to the Director of Product and work every day with engineering, Solutions, and the finance teams who use Tabs.
Why this role exists: most revenue software is built by people who have never had to defend a number at close. We want someone who has, and who has also built software with engineers.
How We WorkWe work hard. Two-week sprints, weekly ship goals, short feedback cycles. Built around intra-month product releases.
We work smart. Get in front of the customer, use both data and customer feedback to drive decisions, while keeping the bigger picture in mind.
We work together. In-office culture with people you want to work with. Lots of whiteboard space. Expense coffee, lunch, and dinner when in the office.
Own the revenue recognition engine
Define how performance obligations convert into revenue schedules across methods — straightlined, point-in-time, usage-based, and milestone
Ensure contract changes (amendments, renewals, terminations) flow through correctly to revenue schedules, including re-allocation and restatements
Own recognized, deferred, and unbilled balances, and the movement between them each period
Drive ASC 606 compliance
Own transaction price allocation across bundled performance obligations (SSP), variable consideration, and contract modification accounting
Stay current on evolving accounting guidance and audit standards, along with the needs of active and prospective merchants, and translate them into product direction
Build toward audit-defensible, SOX-grade revenue
Define the audit trail standard — what was recognized, when, why, against which obligation — so an external auditor can verify any number directly
Build toward segregated permissions and approval workflows (RBAC) for revenue and journal entry changes
Bring AI into the revenue workflow
Partner on AI-powered tooling that goes beyond answering questions — flagging anomalies before close, explaining what changed and why, and recommending the right recognition treatment as obligations and contracts evolve
About You
Background as a Controller, Assistant Controller, Revenue Accountant, or Technical Accounting Manager — someone who has done the hands-on technical accounting work of applying ASC 606 to real transactions
5+ years of relevant experience and a track record of building — you've worked hands-on with engineers to scope, prioritize, and ship a software feature or system
Deep, practical ASC 606 fluency — comfortable reasoning through transaction price allocation, variable consideration, and contract modification accounting directly, not just at a conceptual level
Comfortable translating complex accounting frameworks into product requirements and data models engineers can build against
Highly analytical and data-driven; comfortable making decisions based on metrics and qualitative insight
Excellent communicator and collaborator — you work closely with teams like Solutions to shape product design, make sure they understand what's being built, and align executive stakeholders

What We Do
Finance software transformed how companies manage spend years ago. Revenue never got the same treatment. Billing, collections, and revenue recognition stayed manual, because the accounting complexity and the risk of getting it wrong made the work hard to automate. So finance teams scaled with headcount instead. As revenue grew, so did the exceptions, judgment calls, and spreadsheet work needed to support it. Meanwhile, revenue itself got more complicated. Companies now price with usage, credits, commitments, consumption, outcomes, and hybrids of them. Products change, pricing changes, and sometimes the unit of value itself changes. Static systems were never designed for that variability. We started Tabs in 2023 to fix this with AI. Today we run the contract-to-cash lifecycle as one connected system: contracts, billing, collections, payments, revenue recognition, and reporting.
