Who we are
We're Redis. We built the product that runs the fast apps our world runs on. (If you checked the weather, used your credit card, or looked at your flight status online today, you’re welcome.) At Redis, you’ll work with the fastest, simplest technology in the business—whether you’re building it, telling its story, or selling it to our 10,000+ worldwide customers. We’re creating a faster world with simpler experiences. You in?
Streams and messaging sit at the heart of modern, real-time systems. In this role, you will own capabilities that are on the critical path of event-driven architectures, data pipelines, background processing, and real-time communication used by thousands of Redis customers in production.
You will work on a product area that is deeply technical, highly visible, and widely adopted, collaborating closely with experienced engineers, architects, and customer-facing teams across the company. The problems you’ll tackle span correctness, performance, scalability, and developer experience with direct feedback from real users running Redis at scale.
This role offers a unique opportunity to shape how developers build reliable, real-time applications using Redis, while balancing open-source innovation with enterprise-grade requirements in Cloud and self-managed environments. If you enjoy turning complex distributed-systems challenges into simple, intuitive product experiences, and seeing your work make an immediate impact, this role is for you.
What you’ll do
- Develop deep expertise in the streams and messaging domain, including event streaming, pub/sub, consumer groups, reliable delivery patterns, and real-time workflows
- Define detailed product requirements in collaboration with engineering, design, and key stakeholders
- Maintain and prioritize a backlog of features and enhancements that align with Redis’s strategic goals
- Work with our alliances team to establish relationships with core streaming ecosystem components and drive business with them
- Ensure clear execution and delivery of product features according to specifications and timelines
- Work closely with product marketing on go-to-market plans, and with customer success and education teams to document, train, and support product capabilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evangelize streams and messaging capabilities internally and externally
What will you need to have
- 5+ years of experience in software product management or equivalent experience in an enterprise organization
- Strong understanding of event streaming / messaging technologies (e.g., Kafka, Pulsar, Redis Streams, Pub/Sub, or similar systems)
- Ability to articulate both high-level concepts and detailed technical requirements concisely, verbally and in writing
- Comfortable with code and capable of collaborating closely with engineers on technical design
- BSc in Computer Science or equivalent technical experience
- Experience with distributed systems, real-time data pipelines, or event-driven architecture
- Contributions to relevant open-source communities such as Celery, Bullmq, Flink, …
- Experience building developer-centric APIs, SDKs, or tools
- Prior experience with NoSQL or real-time databases (extra points for Redis experience)
