POSITION OVERVIEW

Oportun is seeking a talented, customer-focused, and analytical Senior Product Manager to join the Servicing & Payments team.

You will help create a trusted post-disbursement experience that strengthens members’ confidence in Oportun, supports their financial health, and encourages continued engagement and repeat member behavior. You are responsible for making repayment easy, intelligent, successful, and accurately reflected for lending members

In this role, you will define product strategy, set measurable objectives and key results, create outcome-oriented roadmaps, and partner with engineering, design, data, operations, risk, compliance, and other teams to deliver reliable, scalable solutions. WHAT YOU’LL DO
  • Define and execute product strategy and roadmaps that improve repayment outcomes, member trust, and repeat engagement.
  • Own initiatives end to end—from discovery and requirements through delivery, measurement, and iteration.
  • Create simple, transparent, and reliable servicing and payment experiences across self-service and assisted channels.
  • Use member insights, data, and experimentation to improve payer rate, payment success, DQ prevention, and lending-member NPS.
  • Lead cross-functional delivery with engineering, design, data, operations, risk, compliance, legal, and finance.
  • Communicate product strategy, trade-offs, progress, and measurable business impact to senior stakeholders.
WHO YOU ARE / WHAT YOU BRING
  • Strong track record: 5+ years of product management experience in high-growth environments.
  • Experience working with business executives from many disciplines (compliance, risk, operations, fraud, technology, business intelligence, finance, training, legal, cybersecurity, etc.) to understand the need, define features, and prioritize and manage scope to operate in an iterative agile delivery framework.
  • Customer-centric: You are passionate about improving the financial health of Oportun’s members.
  • Analytical problem solver: You have experience working and delivering on complex problems.  You excel in making data-informed decisions (testing and experimentation, defining metrics, data analysis).
  • Collaborative: You have a track record of shipping and iterating on impactful products that required partnering with and building consensus across a wide group of cross-functional partners.
  • Excellent communicator: You are a clear and concise communicator, and you have superb documentation skills.
  • Execution: You’re scrappy, solution-oriented, and able to help the team push through obstacles and blockers to deliver value for our members.
  • Bonus Points: You have experience launching products within complex legal and regulatory frameworks such as Finance, experience with SQL, and experience working with a multi-national workforce.
