About the role
As Senior PM for Observability, Commercial Platform & Platform UX at Dremio, you will own the strategy and roadmap for Dremio's commercial mechanics and operational visibility systems: billing, cost management, usage metering, audit logs, observability, marketplace integrations, and the platform Console and API.
Your vision is for fully automated, real-time, transparent commercial systems and complete operational visibility. Currently, these processes are manual, lack real-time visibility, and require dedicated tooling. You will drive automation for usage attribution, credits, and spend transparency, and ensure observability proactively surfaces actionable signals.
You will operate at the intersection of cloud infrastructure and SaaS monetization, focusing on accurate consumption-based billing, flexible pricing, and intuitive platform interfaces for configuration, management, and monitoring. This role is focused on the platform layer and commercial systems, not product experience or end-user analytics.
A critical component is owning the go-to-market motion for platform features, with a sharp focus on COGS, unit economics, and gross margin impact. You are expected to identify and drive efficiency improvements across infrastructure and commercial systems to reduce cost, improve margin, and support sustainable growth.
What You'll Be Doing
- Own product strategy for billing infrastructure and commercial platform systems — ensuring accurate consumption attribution, flexible pricing model support, marketplace integrations, and customer spend transparency.
- Drive the roadmap for cost management capabilities — giving customers and internal teams real-time visibility into usage, spend, and credits without manual intervention.
- Own observability and audit log strategy for the platform — defining the signals, dashboards, and alerting that proactively surface operational and commercial health to both internal teams and customers.
- Partner closely with Finance and RevOps to ensure commercial systems are accurate, scalable, and aligned with revenue goals.
- Shape the Console, API, and CLI experience — defining how Dremio and its customers interact with, configure, and monitor the platform in a simpler, more intuitive way.
- Own documentation of all product requirements, deliverables, and user enablement content for commercial and customer experience surfaces.
- Drive clear communication across engineering and support teams to ensure product-related issues transition smoothly through defined channels.
- Use telemetry and customer signals to identify gaps, validate improvements, and continuously raise the bar on platform quality and customer experience.
- Collaborate closely with UX Design, Engineering, Finance, and RevOps to ensure commercial capabilities ship accurately, intuitively, and in alignment with revenue goals.
- 5–8+ years of Product Management experience in SaaS, cloud infrastructure, or commercial platform environments.
- Experience owning or contributing to usage metering, billing systems, or consumption-based pricing models — including end-to-end billing pipelines from instrumentation through to invoice.
- Hands-on experience with usage telemetry systems — defining what gets measured, how it flows through data pipelines, and how it maps to commercial outcomes such as consumption attribution and spend reporting.
- Strong understanding of marketplace integrations (AWS, Azure) and commercial platform patterns.
- Strong grasp of COGS analysis and unit economics — able to model how platform and infrastructure decisions affect gross margins and identify opportunities to drive efficiencies at scale.
- Proven ability to take platform features to market — developing clear GTM strategies, positioning, and enablement for technically complex capabilities.
- Experience working closely with Finance and RevOps stakeholders on revenue-critical systems, with a mindset toward margin improvement and cost optimisation.
- Experience using platform telemetry and operational signals to identify gaps and inform product decisions.
- Self-motivated and proactive, comfortable operating in ambiguity.
- Clear and concise communicator capable of bridging technical and business audiences.
- Thrives in a hyper-growth environment where priorities evolve and ownership is essential.
- Strong ownership mindset with high accountability and a bias toward action.
- Experience supporting commercial platform systems (marketplace integrations, pricing models, revenue systems).
- Background in consumption-based or usage-metered SaaS businesses, with direct experience in how usage-based pricing models are designed, instrumented, and brought to market.
- Familiarity with enterprise procurement and cloud marketplace deal structures.
- Experience designing or improving platform-facing surfaces (Console, APIs).
- Comfortable using AI tools (e.g. Claude Code) for prototyping, rapid iteration, and accelerated product delivery.
