Job Description:

At Fluence, we are accelerating the transformation of the global energy landscape through innovative energy storage solutions. As our Senior Product Manager, Power Conversion Systems (PCS), you will play a critical role in shaping the strategy, roadmap, and lifecycle of one of the most important components within our energy storage portfolio.

In this role, you will be responsible for defining and driving the global PCS product vision, ensuring our solutions meet evolving customer needs, market demands, and technological advancements. You will work closely with cross-functional teams across Product Management, Engineering, Supply Chain, Procurement, Commercial, Quality, and regional organizations to deliver competitive, high-performing products that support Fluence's long-term growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and drive the global product strategy, roadmap, and lifecycle management for Fluence's PCS portfolio.
  • Define product priorities based on customer requirements, market trends, competitive insights, technology developments, and regional needs.
  • Align PCS product plans with Fluence's overall product and technology strategy.
  • Balance requirements across Americas, EMEA, and APAC markets while maintaining a cohesive global product approach.
  • Identify opportunities to improve product performance, reliability, functionality, cost competitiveness, and scalability.
  • Develop a deep understanding of customer needs and market dynamics across global energy storage markets.
  • Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, regulatory developments, and relevant technical standards.
  • Translate customer, market, regulatory, and system-level requirements into clear product requirements and development priorities.
  • Partner with Engineering teams to define product capabilities, performance targets, and roadmap deliverables.
  • Lead cross-functional alignment between Product Management, Engineering, Supply Chain, Procurement, Commercial, Quality, Service, and regional teams.
  • Act as the primary Product Management interface between the PCS portfolio and Fluence's system-level products.
  • Support customer-facing and commercial teams with product expertise, positioning, and technical guidance.
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain and Procurement teams to develop sourcing strategies and evaluate supplier capabilities, technology roadmaps, quality, cost, and availability.
  • Manage PCS products throughout their lifecycle, from product definition and development through launch, optimization, and end-of-life decisions.
  • Drive initiatives focused on standardization, product simplification, cost reduction, and continuous performance improvement.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, Energy Systems, or a related technical discipline.
  • Significant experience in Product Management within power electronics, Power Conversion Systems (PCS), inverters, energy storage, or related energy technologies.
  • Strong understanding of PCS technologies and the technical and commercial factors that drive product performance and competitiveness.
  • Proven experience translating customer and market requirements into product strategies, roadmaps, and product requirements.
  • Experience working closely with engineering teams to define and deliver technical products.
  • Experience collaborating with Supply Chain, Procurement, manufacturing partners, and/or strategic suppliers.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and influence stakeholders across complex global organizations.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Ability to make data-driven product decisions while balancing customer needs, quality, performance, cost, and business objectives.
  • Experience working in global or multi-regional environments across diverse stakeholder groups.

Additional Skills

  • Experience within the battery energy storage system (BESS) industry.
  • Knowledge of grid-connected energy systems and renewable energy technologies.
  • Familiarity with regional grid codes, industry standards, and regulatory requirements across key global markets.
  • Experience conducting competitive analysis and market assessments within the energy technology sector.
  • Understanding of supplier management, strategic sourcing, and component technology roadmaps.
  • Experience launching or managing complex hardware products through multiple product lifecycle phases.
  • Experience working across Americas, EMEA, and APAC markets.
  • Advanced business, commercial, or strategic planning experience.
  • Knowledge of battery management systems (BMS) or broader energy storage system architecture.
