The search optimization team is responsible for creating/evolving an MLE-driven shopping experience that helps customers find the perfect travel products tailored to their needs. The team also optimizes the experience to maximize revenue.   On this team you’ll work with our highly talented ML engineers to bring your AI/ML skills to the next level.  The team culture is fun, respectful, and focused on both taking chances and delivering impact.

What You´ll Do on a Typical Day:

• Analyze customer behavior to gain insight into customer wants/needs – both met and unmet.  This may be in collaboration with your partners in analytics or MLE (Machine Learning Engineering or Data Science).
• Identify opportunities for sort optimization, personalization, and recommendations to improve the customer experience and/or revenue.
• Define, organize, and analyze A/B tests to confirm hypotheses you formed above.   This includes close collaboration with Analytics and MLE teams.
• Study industry practices to gain insight on applications/capabilities of AI/ML approaches
• Spend time with core stakeholders and their proxys.  Those include business travelers, travel managers, suppliers, and our GBT business/outcome stakeholders.
• Participate in the regular sprint rhythm with dev team (e.g. backlog grooming, sprint planning, etc.)

What We´re Looking For:

• Technical degree and 5+ years of experience in a product role
• Demonstrate a track record of curiosity driven learning about AI and ML technologies and applications.  We don’t need a data scientist – we need a great product manager who can speak data science and is able to conceive of innovative solution using AI and ML.
