Purpose

The Senior Product Manager, Life Sciences Markets is responsible for driving market growth, product strategy, revenue expansion, and competitive differentiation across assigned Life Sciences markets within the Clinisys Scientific portfolio.

The role owns end-to-end product lifecycle management, defines pricing and packaging strategies, aligns go-to-market execution, and applies AI pragmatically within product strategy. Domain knowledge in Life Sciences and laboratory informatics is required, though success in this role is defined by the ability to grow a business through strong market understanding, commercial product leadership, and strategic investment decision-making.

The role is responsible for understanding and advancing Clinisys solutions across Life Sciences markets including research and biotech organizations, biobanking programs, contract/clinical research organizations (CROs), pharmaceutical development, quality control laboratories, and pharmaceutical manufacturing environments. This role identifies market opportunities, develops business cases, evaluates product investments, and ensures product strategy aligns with customer needs, competitive dynamics, regulatory requirements, and commercial growth objectives.

The successful candidate will bring experience within regulated Life Sciences environments (GxP, GLP, GMP) and understand how regulatory agencies such as the FDA influence laboratory systems, digital workflows, quality processes, and product development practices.

The Senior Product Manager, Life Sciences Markets is expected to leverage generative AI, agentic workflows, predictive insights, and AI-enabled product management practices as part of daily work activities, including market analysis, customer research, business case development, roadmap planning, requirements definition, and strategic decision-making.

In addition to using AI to improve productivity and decision quality, the role is expected to identify opportunities where AI can create meaningful customer value, influence product strategy, and drive responsible AI adoption within Clinisys solutions. The successful candidate must demonstrate the ability to utilize AI responsibly while maintaining accountability for all product decisions, investment recommendations, roadmap priorities, customer communications, and business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

Product Strategy & Market Ownership

  • Own strategic direction and outcomes for assigned Life Sciences markets and portfolio.

  • Define market segments, buyer personas, and use cases.

  • Conduct market/competitive research and convert insights into strategy.

  • Analyze and grow TAM, SAM, and SOM.

  • Identify growth opportunities and strategic investments through innovation, expansion, and partnerships.

Roadmap, Execution & SaaS Delivery

  • Maintain product roadmap and translate strategy into epics/features.

  • Partner with engineering on planning, trade-offs, and releases.

  • Create clear requirements for development.

  • Ensure high-quality SaaS delivery and sign-off on releases.

Business Planning & Go-To-Market Leadership

  • Develop business cases, value propositions, and pricing.

  • Align with Sales, Marketing, and Finance.

  • Support positioning, messaging, demos, and proposals.

  • Engage customers for validation, discovery, and feedback.

AI-Enabled Product Leadership

  • Use AI/GenAI tools to support product work.

  • Evaluate customer AI requests for feasibility and value.

  • Collaborate with engineering on responsible AI delivery.

  • Ensure AI features deliver measurable impact.

Cross-Functional Leadership & Ownership

  • Serve as accountable owner for product outcomes.

  • Lead internal and external discussions independently.

  • Identify and communicate product, market or delivery risks proactively.

Skills Required for Success

  • Experience working with life sciences laboratories such as: research and biotech organizations, biobanks, croS, pharmaceutical development, pharmaceutical manufacturing.

  • Strong understanding of regulated lab environments including: GxP, GMP principles, FDA regulatory frameworks affecting lab systems, biospecimen lifecycle and chain of custody, clinical trial sample management

  • Familiarity with laboratory workflows supporting pharmaceutical development or manufacturing quality environments.

  • Experience developing products withing a Quality Management System (QMS), including familiarity with regulated product development practices such as validation, change control, documentation, and audit readiness.

  • Strong strategic synthesis and commercial acumen.

  • Excellent communication and decision-making skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple initiatives.

  • Technical fluency with SaaS and SDLC.

  • Knowledge of regulated laboratory environments

  • Comfort making decisions with incomplete information.

  • Strong collaboration and relationship-building skills.

  • Technical fluency with modern SaaS platforms and software development lifecycles.

  • Working knowledge of laboratory operations and regulated environments.

Required Experience & Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Management, Computer Science, Biological Sciences or equivalent experience.

  • 5+ years in a software product management or product ownership role, including 3 years in Life Sciences safety.

  • Direct experience with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) is required.

  • Experience delivering SaaS products in complex or regulated domains.

  • Experience supporting go-to-market activities and working closely with Sales and Marketing.

  • Experience participating in or leading the release of AI or Generative AI product features.

  • Experience supporting laboratory testing, other ancillary services or population/case management a plus.

Preferred Experience & Education

  • MBA and/or Master’s in Health Administration, Information Management, or Computer Science

The starting pay range for a candidate selected for this position is generally within the range of $150,000 - $190,000 for annual base salary. The successful candidate’s actual pay will be based on various factors, such as work location, qualifications, and experience, so the actual starting pay may be above or below this range.

Physical Requirements

  • Work is performed in a normal office setting with minimal exposure to health or safety hazards. Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds with assistance as part of office routine

  • 25-30% travel may be required

  • Moderate lifting/carrying 15-44 lbs.; use of fingers; walking/standing 2-6 hours

  • Exposure to hazardous materials or various weather conditions

  • Travel to client sites that can pose risk associated with healthcare organization

  • May be required to follow customer location health and safety requirements
