The Role

Senior Product Manager – Identity Experience, Clinical Solutions

About Elsevier
Elsevier is a global leader in information, analytics, and decision support solutions for science, health, and technology professionals. We help researchers, clinicians, and educators advance knowledge and improve outcomes by delivering trusted content, data, and insights at the moments they matter most.

Purpose of the Role

Elsevier is seeking an experienced Senior Product Manager to lead the identity and access experience across its Clinical Solutions portfolio—including ClinicalKey, ClinicalKey AI, ClinicalKey for Nursing, and future platform services. This pivotal role will define and drive the identity strategy that powers seamless, secure, and personalized access for healthcare professionals and institutions worldwide.

You will be responsible for the product lifecycle of authentication and identity management capabilities that enable a unified user experience across Elsevier’s clinical ecosystem. This includes Single Sign-On (SSO), personalized access across products, delegated institutional access, mobile authentication, and integration with shared services and external systems like EHRs and LMSs.

Key Responsibilities

Product Strategy & Roadmap

  • Own the vision and roadmap for Clinical Solutions identity and authentication experience.
  • Lead integration with Elsevier-wide shared services for user identity and access management.
  • Translate the broader ClinicalKey platform strategy into tangible, high-impact identity features.

Platform Integration

  • Collaborate with platform engineering and architecture teams to scale secure, HIPAA-compliant, role-based access across mobile, web, and EHR-integrated experiences.
  • Enable personalized, role-specific experiences via federated identity and contextual authentication capabilities.

Stakeholder Alignment

  • Act as the key product liaison across business units (Physician, Nursing, Education), ensuring identity capabilities meet the evolving needs of clinicians, academic institutions, and enterprise buyers.
  • Align with commercial, UX, data privacy, and compliance stakeholders to ensure trust, usability, and regional requirements are met.

Execution & Measurement

  • Define KPIs to track adoption, access success rates, identity-driven personalization, and reduction in support tickets.
  • Partner with analytics teams to develop dashboards for institutional and internal reporting on identity metrics.

Customer-Centric Innovation

  • Identify and prioritize opportunities to simplify login journeys, enable ambient and mobile access, and support bi-directional workflows across systems.
  • Conduct discovery with clinical end-users to reduce friction and meet real-world identity needs, including for advanced practice providers (APPs) and international users.

Required Skills and Experience

  • 7+ years in product management, with proven experience owning platform, identity, or data products in complex enterprise or healthcare settings.

  • Deep understanding of identity technologies (e.g., SSO, SAML, OAuth2, federated identity, delegated access).

  • Experience with enterprise-grade authentication and authorization systems, including EHR or LMS integration.

  • Demonstrated success working in platform or multi-product environments with shared services.

  • Have experience with communication and stakeholder engagement skills, including working across product, tech, compliance, and commercial teams.

  • Familiarity with HIPAA, GDPR, and authentication best practices for regulated healthcare markets.

  • Experience in AI-augmented platforms, especially in clinical or health tech domains.

U.S. National Base Pay Range: $104,900 - $174,700. Geographic differentials may apply in some locations to better reflect local market rates. This job is eligible for an annual incentive bonus.
