What you’ll do
As a Financial Product Manager, you will play a critical role in developing and enhancing Kraken's core bookkeeping and financial transaction systems. Your work will directly enable Kraken to scale globally by providing clients with a robust and accurate financial system. You will combine strategic thinking, product management expertise and data-driven decision-making to build a transparent and reliable bookkeeping system that accurately manages customer balances and financial transactions at scale ensuring accurate billing for different types of clients across various markets.
Main duties
- Strategy Development: Work closely with different stakeholders across the business (delivery, sales, finance, accounting, other product teams etc.) to define and refine the product strategy for Kraken's bookkeeping and financial initiatives. This involves understanding customer needs for financial insights, market trends, evolving accounting requirements, and operational challenges, ensuring it meets business objectives and regulatory compliance across different markets.
- Product Development: Oversee the development, implementation and continuous improvement of processes and systems, ensuring the accuracy and efficiency for different types of clients. Closely collaborate with engineering, delivery and designers to enhance the product capabilities and address evolving market needs.
- Data Analysis and Reporting: Design and monitor status dashboards, identify trends, inefficiencies and potential risks together with engineering. Use data-driven insights to improve accuracy, reduce errors and ensure reliable financial record-keeping. Share regular reporting with key stakeholders.
- Technology Evaluation: Stay up-to-date withrelevant technologies, automation tools and industry best practices. Assess new solutions to enhance product accuracy, efficiency and compliance. Manage relationships with external vendors and technology partners where relevant.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with other teams within the organisation, including delivery, sales, engineering and other product teams across the company. Act as the bridge between technical teams and business stakeholders to deliver effective solutions.
- Delivery Solutions & Implementation: Own the successful delivery of solutions, ensuring they are implemented effectively and meet business needs. Proactively follow up with stakeholders, track progress and confirm solutions are working as expected. Support configuration for specific client requirements, address any gaps and oversee a smooth handover.
What you’ll need
- Proven experience of at least 2 years in a product role within a product-led tech company, with a track record of successfully developing and releasing operational processes and systems in a fast-paced environment. You'll understand agile methodologies, ways of working in a SaaS company and the dynamics of a quickly evolving product.
- Strong strategic thinking, a growth mindset, and vision-setting abilities, with the capability to align product strategy with business goals and market dynamics in the financial domain.
- Deep understanding of Product Management methodologies, agile development practices and user-centred design principles.
- Experience with common workflow or documentation management tools (e.g., Asana, Jira, Notion) is neededThe ability to thrive in an ambiguous, dynamic environment, comfortable with uncertainty and constant change.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse, global teams and influence decision-making at all levels of the organisation. You'll be fluent in English.
- To be curious and a great listener – fantastic ideas come from everywhere in Kraken Technologies, so you’ll need to be able to spot and harness them.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and an ability to interact with people with varying levels of technical knowledge.
- A strong technical background is a significant advantage (e.g. understanding of SQL, coding and how databases are structured etc.) to facilitate robust bookkeeping and financial transaction management.
- Experience in financial systems (e.g., bookkeeping, billing, payments or debt management), particularly in managing complex operational processes and data integrity within these domains.
- Knowledge of the energy market and other European languages are a bonus.
