We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic professional to join our global team to head the Japan, Asia North (JANA) and Asia South (AS) Deposit Strategy & Analytics Balance Sheet Lead position. This pivotal role is a significant partner providing insight and support to cash products -Liquidity Management Services (LMS) of our Services business to drive and contribute to financial and risk and control objectives. The position is a key partner and supporter to Liquidity Management Services Cluster Heads, responsible for driving the strategic alignment and execution of balance sheet management initiatives within these two clusters and achieving cluster goals and target growth. The successful candidate will play a critical role in optimizing balance sheet performance, enhancing financial visibility, and supporting key regulatory and planning processes across the clusters. This position requires a proactive approach to collaboration with diverse internal stakeholders, senior stakeholders’ management, strong analytical acumen, and the ability to propose and/or resolve issues to unleash optimal growth opportunities.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the overall balance sheet optimization strategy for the Clusters to contribute to the overall cluster goals, ensuring consistent alignment with the global balance sheet strategy. This includes tracking and driving the successful execution of strategic initiatives.
- Collaborate with Finance to manage business side for CCAR, Plan, and QMMF, ensuring the alignment of macro-economic factors, deposit and revenue growth and segment targets.
- Play the key partner and support to LMS Cluster Heads, in launching initiatives and/or campaigns to grow deposits and bridging the conversations with Segment /Sales on their growth plan with coherent links to product/factory plans.
- Partner with Finance and Data Analytics teams to enhance Monthly Cluster/Client Analytics, ensuring that cluster performance visibility is consistently maintained. This also involves assuring the delivery and standardization of Key Performance Indicators.
- Manage beta, partner with Finance and Treasury to facilitate the annual/quarterly Beta determination process and ensure robust monthly tracking.
- Support Cluster LMS Heads in managing various monthly forums (e.g., QBRs), including comprehensive materials preparation, diligent deliverables tracking, and follow-ups.
- As part of the GSIB regular monitoring and management, enhance forecasting and proactively prepare for optimizing GSIB capacity given its meaningful impact.
- In close partnership with the FTP, Capital, and Hedging Optimization Team, assess and highlight SYC issues for the countries. This entails assuring alignment with Citi policies, Citi BSLM limits, and market accessibility, with the expectation to challenge proposals when required.
- Establish and drive an annual country deep dive process, with a primary focus on countries that have a material impact on the balance sheet.
- Drive NIM/RLAP/ROTCE optimization initiatives in partnership with the Optimization and Pricing Team.
- Collaborate with the FTP, Capital, and Hedging Optimization Team to provide effective training on key balance sheet concepts for Cluster/Country Product and Sales/Coverage teams.
- Provide support for any other ad hoc Cluster/Country requests pertaining to all balance sheet management topics that may arise.
- Provide support for any ad hoc requests from the Global Balance Sheet Strategy & Analytics Head.
Qualifications:
- 15+ years of experience
- Experience in Product Management and/or Treasury is "Good to Have"
- Previous experience in cash and liquidity management products and/or client treasury activities
- Key interest and discipline in balance sheet, driving business revenues, and turning constraints into opportunities.
Education:
- Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience.
- Master’s degree is "Good to Have"
