Job Requisition ID #
Position Overview
Autodesk is hiring a Product Manager to join the Analytics Data Platform team. The Analytics Data organization builds and runs the data and AI platform Autodesk teams use to capture, produce, and deliver analytics at scale. It powers product health analytics across the portfolio, personalized insights inside AutoCAD, Revit, and Fusion, generative AI features, Autodesk Profile, and the Autodesk Assistant. The Analytics Data Platform team owns the infrastructure the platform runs on. This is where data lives, where compute processes it, and where work moves from one step to the next. It determines whether a team ships in a day or a quarter, and it drives the platform's cost, performance, and reliability. Our direction is self-serve and automated. Teams provision what they need in minutes, we modernize the engines and storage formats underneath, and we are opening the platform to agents that can provision, query, and optimize on a user's behalf. To get there, we are making the infrastructure work like one product, not a set of separate systems each team has to learn. As a Product Manager on the team, you will partner with a distributed engineering team to deliver this work, balancing the needs of platform users, including data engineers, scientists, analysts, and ML and BI teams, with the company's needs for cost, compliance, and reliability. We are looking for a hands-on, technically fluent product manager who leads through influence, enjoys making complex infrastructure simple to use, and knows that Autodesk's analytics and AI depend on getting this infrastructure right.
Responsibilities
- Own the vision and roadmap for the platform's storage, compute, and the systems that connect analytics platform workflows
- Define a unified, self-serve experience for getting storage, compute, and access on demand
- Set the reliability bar for the platform and hold it there, so teams can run business-critical analytics and AI workloads with confidence
- Give teams clear visibility into what they use, what it costs, and how to improve performance
- Partner with a distributed engineering team, and talk to users directly to find what slows them down and add the fixes to the roadmap
- Lead technical discussions, write clear product requirements, and run quarterly planning and prioritization
- Manage the full lifecycle, from new capabilities through migrations to retirement, keeping the platform current as engines, formats, and cloud services change
- Build in security and compliance from the start, including least-privilege, project-scoped access, and environment isolation
- Track big data and AI infrastructure trends, and run vendor assessments when buying beats building
- Measure and report the platform's impact, including time to provision, reliability, performance, adoption, and cost
- Be the go-to expert and advocate for the platform, keeping documentation current and supporting the teams that build on it
Minimum Qualifications
- 4+ years in product management, including infrastructure or platform products at scale such as data platforms, cloud infrastructure, or developer tooling
- Proven ability to align cross-functional and globally distributed teams without formal authority
- Skilled at working with stakeholders, communicating early, anticipating needs, and building agreement with peers and senior leadership
- Strong empathy for technical users, turning the daily problems of engineers, scientists, and analysts into product decisions
- Able to connect platform decisions to business outcomes and to clear targets for cost, performance, and reliability
- Able to prioritize across many competing teams and workloads
- Technical depth to discuss storage, compute, query engines, and orchestration credibly with senior engineers, and to weigh the trade-offs of scale, performance, and cost
- A clear communicator who drives adoption across internal teams
- Fluency in product discovery, using research and data to learn what is worth building, whether it will work, and whether teams will use it
- A track record of leading delivery end to end, including migrations where users actually move and the old path is retired
- A data-driven approach, measuring how the platform is used and making decisions from that data
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with big data compute and query engines (such as Spark, Trino, or Athena) and container orchestration (Kubernetes or EKS)
- Experience with lakehouse storage and open table formats (such as Iceberg) and warehouses (such as Snowflake)
- Experience with orchestration and DataOps or MLOps tooling (such as Airflow, Temporal, or Metaflow)
- Experience with access management for big data (project-scoped or role-based models, such as Ranger or Lake Formation)
- Experience with platform observability and cost and performance management
- Experience with the analytics surfaces that sit on top, such as Looker, notebooks, or query workbenches
- Experience leading an infrastructure or platform migration at scale, including multi-region or data-residency requirements
- Experience making build-versus-buy decisions and running vendor assessments
