Company Description

At Wise we’re building money without borders, for people without borders. Our mission is to make moving money around the world instant, transparent, convenient and eventually free. Wise now has millions of customers all over the world who trust us to manage their money and make it easier to live an international life.

Job Description

We’re looking for a Senior Product Manager to join our Contacts and Recipients Creation team and contribute to rethinking how Wise customers send money.

Wise's model for moving money internationally can be complex; customers need to add the recipient details, but usually they are not familiar with the format of bank details of the recipient as they don’t know the banking system in the foreign country. They get confused with terms like IBAN, swift, routing number, local details and international.

This is where you come in. Our vision is that sending money should be as easy as sending an email. You’ll help us to simplify this experience for customers - by removing unnecessary friction, and by offering faster and easier ways to find recipients such as integration with local systems that can identify users by email, phone or a unique identifier. You will also help in extending Wise's own network - sending money between 2 Wise users. This will help more customers move their money internationally, whether it's to help friends and family or to support their international lifestyle - money sent internationally by thinking locally.

About the team

The Contacts and Recipients team is working across our offices in London and Tallinn. They own the experience of adding recipients, the database and services of maintaining the hundreds of millions of recipients Wise users already have, and building the network of the bank details and personal details of Wise own users. Their work includes sharpening the user interface, as well as optimising the services and back end - and integrating with local payment schemes across the world, from Brazil to Australia. They measure success by the success rate and ease of adding a new recipient, and the satisfaction of customers.

You’ll own the challenge of:

  • Setting new standards of adding a recipient - searching by email, phone number, name and more.

  • Integrating with payment methods across the world.

  • Making the experience smooth and easy - while making sure it is secured - money doesn’t get to the wrong recipient and the ease of use is not exploited by bad actors.

  • Working with regional product and compliance teams to deliver a global product which accommodates the specifics of local financial systems and local regulations

  • Working with designers, developers and analysts to ensure the team ship the best possible product

This role will give you the opportunity to:

  • Choose your own path to success - you’ll have the freedom to define the vision and the responsibility for making it happen

  • Be flexible in how and where you work, we understand everyone needs a little something different so we’ll do our best to make it happen

  • Travel to work with our teams in Singapore and New York as well as meet various partners and organisations when needed

Inspire teams with your ideas, knowledge and self-starting attitude

Qualifications

  • You are a seasoned PM who has solved complex problems at a global scale

  • You are customer obsessed. You approach every problem from the eyes of the customer, not the business.

  • You have a strong sense of UX and a strict attention to UI details, and have a track record of delivering excellent UX. Design skills are a clear desired bonus.

  • You have experience in qualitative design testing, to assess solutions against functional and emotional needs.

  • You have a good technical understanding to help the team integrate with other providers and to design our technical system in the best way.

  • You can use different data points, both qualitative and quantitative, to identify, diagnose and prioritise customer problems and opportunities to solve them.

  • You have experience running A/B tests to improve conversion funnels or change customer behaviour.

  • You are able to turn a vision into clear, tangible building blocks of a roadmap and have a clear definition of done.

  • You have experience of working in a cross-functional team of engineers, designers, analysts and researchers.

  • You’re hands on, and you’d do everything needed to make the team and the product successful. You get it done.

  • You are self driven, you deal well with ambiguity, and you can pave the way for things that have never been done before.

  • You’ll report to the Send Experience Principal PM.

What We Do

We’re making a positive, irreversible change in the world of finance. Together.

People on every continent around the world are choosing Wise to help them live, travel and work internationally. We’re the fairest, easiest way to send money overseas.

Built by and for people who live global lives, we make sending money abroad up to 8 times cheaper than the bank. This is money without borders - instant, convenient, transparent and eventually free.

For our customers, using Wise is as simple as sending money from A to B, but behind our app and website is a complex engine of currencies and routes, that’s being designed, built and powered by our talented teams in cities around the world.

We’re just at the beginning of our story and we’re growing at an incredible pace. We won’t stop until anyone, anywhere can send, spend and receive money wherever they are, whatever they’re doing. There’s still heaps to do and we can’t do it alone.

Why Work With Us

We are a mission-driven company, looking to change banking for the better. Current banking systems don’t let us send, spend or receive money across borders easily. Or quickly. Or cheaply. So, we’re building a new one. If you're looking for an autonomous work environment, where you'll face cool challenges, learn and grow, you'll like working at Wise
