  About the role

Roku is seeking a Senior Product Manager to lead exchange optimization initiatives within Roku's advertising platform, driving programmatic CTV innovation at scale. The ideal candidate thrives in technically complex environments, brings a strategic mindset paired with strong execution skills, and is energized by building at the intersection of data, engineering, and advertising.

How will I use AI at Roku?

At Roku, we don't just use AI, we work with it. AI agents and smart tools help power drafts, analysis, and repetitive workflows, while our people bring direction, judgment, and accountability. We value curious, adaptable builders, who can show how they've used AI, agents, or automation to move faster, improve quality, and scale their impact.

Strong candidates know how to frame problems, guide AI-assisted work, check the output, and learn quickly. Above all, they bring curiosity, adaptability, and sound judgment.

What you'll be doing
  • Partner with data science and engineering teams to design, test, and maintain algorithms for dynamic price floor optimization using real-time signals such as demand density, device and content context, seasonality, and competing bid landscape to maximize auction outcomes
  • Develop traffic shaping strategies that route and pace bid requests across supply paths, SSPs, DSPs, and inventory tiers to balance latency, timeout rates, and win-rate economics within CTV's unique ad pod and long-form video environment
  • Build and iterate on auction mechanics including pricing dynamics, pod optimization, and floor personalization to improve yield
  • Own experimentation execution for pricing and routing changes with clear measurement of impact on fill rate, CPM, latency, revenue, and user experience
  • Analyze the impact of various bid request signals on advertiser and exchange outcomes
  • Model and forecast supply and demand elasticity by inventory segment including device type, content genre, daypart, and geography to inform pricing and packaging strategy
  • Partner with engineering to productionize optimization models into production systems
  • Monitor exchange health metrics such as QPS, timeout rates, win rate, revenue per mille, and bid density
  • Collaborate with demand partner teams to translate business goals including revenue targets, fill guarantees, and publisher relationships into algorithmic constraints and objectives
  • Stay current on programmatic and CTV ecosystem shifts including SSP consolidation, curation, supply path optimization trends, and privacy-driven identity changes to adapt strategies accordingly
  • Engage directly with industry groups such as the IAB Tech Lab to understand demand partner perspectives and identify opportunities for more efficient collaboration
  • Define product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria for complex technical features
  • Communicate product strategy, roadmap, and progress to executive leadership and cross-functional stakeholders
We're excited if you have
  • 6+ years of product management experience, with at least 3 years at an RTB-enabled ad tech company such as a large publisher operating a scaled exchange, SSP, or DSP, with direct involvement in programmatic optimization at scale
  • Deep understanding of real-time bidding and exchange dynamics including auction mechanics, bid request and response protocols, and supply path optimization
  • Advertising DNA: Strong understanding of advertiser and agency dynamics and how different parties interact with DSPs, SSPs, and publishers
  • Experience deploying ML-driven optimization models at scale in an RTB environment
  • Strong statistical analysis and data interpretation skills with the ability to design and evaluate experiments
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, data science, sales, partnerships, and executive stakeholders
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Strategic thinking combined with strong execution skills, with the ability to see the big picture while driving into the details
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a quantitative or technical field

What should I know about Roku's culture?

Roku is a great place for people who want to work in a fast-paced environment where everyone is focused on the company's success rather than their own. We try to surround ourselves with people who are great at their jobs, who are easy to work with, and who keep their egos in check. We appreciate a sense of humor. In short, at Roku you'll be part of a company that's changing how the world watches TV.

We have a unique culture that we are proud of. We think of ourselves primarily as problem-solvers, which itself is a two-part idea. We come up with the solution, but the solution isn't real until it is built and delivered to the customer. That penchant for action gives us a pragmatic approach to innovation, one that has served us well since 2002.
