TEAM

The Woven by Toyota AD/ADAS team develops Automated Driving (AD) technologies and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) that deliver enhanced safety and expanded access to mobility to millions of customers worldwide. Our work on AI-based autonomy and safety systems are critical to our mission to deliver safe, reliable mobility to more people in more places. You will report to the AD/ADAS Head of Product and work across teams, regions, and companies directing development efforts to shape the future of Toyota software.


WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for product managers who can use analytical, technical and creative skills to build world-class AD/ADAS products. Product management at Woven by Toyota leads the integration of engineering, data science, and design to achieve our vision for reinventing transportation. We are looking for passionate product managers to innovate and execute across a growing company and industry.


As a Product Manager in AD/ADAS, you will build an understanding of (internal and external) user needs and constraints (technical, legal, business), envisioning and weighing different approaches, and defining the goals, priorities, and roadmap, empowering our engineering teams to create the most impact possible given available resources.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Define top-level product architecture and capabilities by combining input from customer teams, competitive benchmarking data, and other internal/external engineering teams
  • Work with engineering leadership to define short-, mid- and long-term roadmaps for the team
  • Define and analyze key performance metrics
  • Drive the end-to-end execution of the product through technical engagements both internally and externally
  • Partner with functional leaders across Product, Hardware, Software, Safety, Integration, Operations, and OEMs to support and accelerate their efforts in launching successful products
  • Understand our strategic and competitive position. Define teams' goals, success metrics, and roadmaps to align with Woven by Toyota's mission and drive maximum impact based on data analysis, user research, and partnering with other engineering and cross-functional teams
  • Communicate roadmaps, priorities, experiments, and decisions clearly to all stakeholders from internal customers to Toyota executives
  • Come to the office 3 days per week per our hybrid work policy

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • 7+ years of product management, technical product design, or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of leading technical products (developer environments, machine learning, computer vision, data science, robotics)
  • Experience in automotive software, autonomous vehicles, driver-assistance technology, and automotive HMI
  • Experience collaborating with product and engineering counterparts across a culturally and geographically diverse organization
  • Experience setting direction for Engineering teams: In-depth knowledge of modern software development and machine-learning engineering best practices
  • Experience with identifying opportunities for greatest impact to best leverage available resources
  • Experience communicating the mechanisms, implications, and consequences of technology choices. Skills to connect engineering, business, and other cross-functional stakeholders to common purposes.
  • Business/technically-capable spoken and written English & Japanese language proficiency

  • Knowledge of machine-learning workflows, capabilities, trade-offs
  • Expertise collaborating with diverse teams and disciplines separated across multiple time zones and regions
