About the role

Senior Product Engineer works closely with GMO (Design Manager, Project Manager and Operation Project manager) to manage the deliverables by putting new Stock Keeping Units (SKU) for production, taking responsibility for the Product Specification management, Build Management and Engineering GA/BOM management through to production. Leading and providing guidance to new product engineers (If applied) within our Category team, to help meet or exceed the technical specification, cost and time requirements on our products. Working alongside with Design Engineers, Design Managers and other cross-functional departments, Senior Product Engineers are encouraged to be thoroughly hands on when developing products from Project Transfer through to manufacture. Responsibilities:

  • Guide and manage the new product engineers to ensure all project deliverables are met. 

  • Assign and supervise tasks within project team members in order to efficiently complete a project, track and organize progress of particular tasks that are critical to the projects. 

  • Continuously drive process improvement to support, Product Engineering Managers and the wider business. 

  • Collaborate with UK Category Team to ensure all necessary deliverables are completed, apply conflict management and risk management to ensure a smooth project transfer from UK to SEA.  

  • Run regular reviews/meetings with Category and Engineering Team Leaders to ensure consistent approach and alignment on project manners 

  • Monitor and report project performance matrix from RDD control tower and drill through the metric measurement details for escalations in the regular basis. 

  • Working Alongside with System Lead to refine the Spec Structure according to individual project natures, populate REQs into the desired spec structures. Define SPECs and REQs ownership and run regular reviews/meeting with REQ owners to maintain the SPEC in good shape. 

  • Manage New Product Development SKUs with SKU team coordination to have a well- performed harmonization and BoM management throughout Project Development Phase. 

  • Responsible for Engineering Build machines allocations, drive Engineering Build status and track machines distribution for various departments. 

  • Coordinate with verification team on tracking of tests progress, gather and analysis test performance information for systematically reporting. 

  • Lead and Initiate to form the standardized processes. Implement the Product Engineering guidance. Accelerate learning and sharing techniques for project execution. 

  • Other operational tasks include Engineering Review on SKU drawings, Product Rating Plates, Requirements, Change Requests and SKU Finished Goods Dyson Part Approval Process (DPAP) 

About you

  • Degree in Engineering or Science or demonstrate equivalent experience.  Electronics, Mechanical or Product Design is preferred.

  • 5+ years’ experience of managing product development.

  • Candidates with experience delivering within a product development framework preferred.

  • Candidates with experience of working in a regulated industry to ISO certification QMS standards are preferred.

  • Knowledge and experience in SKU development and release management.

  • Experience with Teamcenter, Unigraphics NX is preferred.
