Renesas Electronics, a leading global semiconductor company, is rapidly scaling its AI-focused power delivery business. Products include high-performance digital power VRMs, multiphase controllers, Smart Power Stages, Vertical Power Stages (SPS with integrated capacitors and multiple silicon die), Power Towers (power modules integrating multiple SPS-equivalents with capacitors and inductors), and power MOSFETs.
Seeking an experienced and motivated Product Engineer (PE) to support the technical readiness, manufacturability for embedded MOSFETs in Smart Power Stage (SPS) products across FET process development, New Product Introduction (NPI) and production phases. This role collaborates closely with design, test, manufacturing, and quality teams to help ensure products meet performance, cost, and schedule goals.
Responsibilities:
- Support MOSFET silicon validation through the development of scripts, test content, and automated test setups.
- Wafer level test support for MOSFET used in Smart Power Stages
- Perform FET characterization at package level
- Document test procedures, test reports, and bring-up guidelines
- Monitor and analyze testing and qualification results to write engineering reports
- Sustaining Product COGS improvement and process optimization such as Yield/Volume/Test Time/failure improvements. Improve Test process and prevent potential quality excursions.
- Manage and mitigate risk in PCRB (Process Change Review Board) to keep delivery by supporting product qualifications, second-source/material changes, and process migrations/improvements.
- Disposition of abnormal lots, low yielding lots or production issues
- Cross function interface with Operation, QA, Reliability, Factory and OSAT
- Monitor and resolve manufacturing and test issues, working closely with fab, assembly, and test sites.
- Analyze product performance, failure modes, and reliability to support customer returns (RMA/FA).
- Lead the NPI process and coordinate the power device products definition, design, fabrication, testing and qualification, taking them from tape-out to production release.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or Computer Engineering
- 3+ years of direct experience in MOSFET product engineering
- Experience using lab tools: parameter analyzer, curve tracer,
- Understanding of schematics, BOMs, and board layout using tools like Allegro, Altium, or OrCAD.
- Experience with discrete device testing and semiconductor packaging
- Experience with engineering databases, automation and statistical analysis using software such as JMP.
- Proficiency in scripting (Python, Perl, or shell) for data logging and automation.
- Familiar with semiconductor device physics
- Having experience in Development NPI Product Engineering is a plus.
- Understanding of process and product development, wafer level processing, assembly and test methods.
- Highly self-motivated, adaptable and good time management skill
- Ability to take initiative and work effectively in teams.
