VicRoads is progressing too. In August 2022, we started on a new chapter when the Victorian State Government partnered with Aware Super, Australian Retirement Trust, and Macquarie Asset Management to operate registration and licensing services on its behalf.
We work collaboratively with the Victorian State Government to ensure we fulfill regulatory requirements, deliver State projects and safeguard customer data. The Victorian State Government retains sole responsibility for road access, infrastructure and safety.
About the Role

VicRoads Registration & Licensing Services are entering 2026 with a strong vision for change and an exciting pipeline of transformational projects. To support this growth, we are opening Expressions of Interest for experienced Senior Product Designers who are passionate about shaping meaningful, customer‑centred services for the Victorian community.
As a Senior Product Designer within our Product and Experience team, you will play a pivotal role in designing intuitive, inclusive, and impactful experiences across digital and physical channels. You’ll work end‑to‑end across discovery, problem framing, prototyping, validation, and implementation—ensuring design solutions are evidence‑led, strategically aligned, and accessible to all users.
You will collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, researchers, and fellow designers to translate insights into actionable design outcomes that balance customer needs with business priorities and policy requirements. As a senior contributor, you will uplift design standards, mature shared frameworks, and help strengthen our design operations and practice efficiency.

- Tertiary qualifications in Design or a related field.
- Formal training in UX, UI, Interaction Design or Product Design with strong human‑centred design expertise.
- Portfolio demonstrating leadership across complex, multidisciplinary design projects, and delivery across web and mobile platforms.
- 6+ years’ product design experience, including senior-level delivery of user‑centred solutions.
- Advanced design thinking capability, with the ability to adapt methods to complex challenges.
