About AMBOSS

AMBOSS is a dynamic learning and clinical decision support tool committed to empowering medical professionals globally to deliver optimal care. Since our inception in 2012, we've harnessed cutting-edge technology to transform the way physicians acquire and apply scientific knowledge. Each AMBOSSian is passionate about being the champion of clinicians today - this motivates and unites us each day towards success. And what does success look like? When a clinician or med student tells us, “AMBOSS makes practicing medicine easier and enjoyable. I love what I do, and a big part is because of AMBOSS.”
Why can this position be exciting for you?

You’ll have the opportunity to design learning experiences that directly impact how future and current doctors prepare for career-defining exams and provide better care for their patients. You’ll work on meaningful challenges at the intersection of education, healthcare, and technology, leveraging data-driven insights and AI-powered solutions to shape the future of medical learning.

You will:

  • Define and improve the education experience for students and medical professionals working in hospitals and/or studying at universities in Germany, the United States, and worldwide. This should apply to both desktop and mobile devices.

  • Work in the education team and closely collaborate with peers in Product, Engineering, and Medical to comprehensively understand user needs when preparing for exams and learning with AMBOSS.

  • Collaborate with medical editors and developers to develop the learning experience.

  • Design prototypes and validate the findings using both qualitative and quantitative data.

  • Develop targeted learning experiences to meet users' needs for reinforced learning that prepares them for professional exams and acquiring new knowledge. Create prototypes that accurately reflect the design intent. Validate these prototypes with the medical & product team to identify meaningful changes that enhance user satisfaction and drive business growth.

  • Work closely with the respective teams to ensure a cohesive and personalized user experience across areas such as sign-up flow, shop, dashboard, and user profile.

  • Advocate for good design principles, usability, and accessibility to contribute to developing high-quality products on a large scale.

  • Collaborate with our in-house user research and data teams to identify and solve key user problems and propose effective solutions.

  • Contribute to the wider design community at AMBOSS, including the design system, interaction patterns, and other design-related topics.

  • Use research opportunities and insights to build empathy and understanding of our users, who are highly educated medical experts, and advocate for their needs.

You bring:

  • Expertise in UX design, information architecture, and visualizing information in a concise manner.

  • User-centered design skills - detail-oriented with a deep understanding of design fundamentals with a proficiency in Figma and modern prototyping tools, including AI solutions..

  • Ability to solve complex design challenges while maintaining a simple and user-friendly visual design language.

  • A passion for implementing great user experiences, validating and delivering designs that address genuine user needs.

  • Ability to go from macro vision to implementation details in an iterative, highly collaborative, and supportive way.

  • Bring a “growth mindset” and openness to develop a deep understanding of educational UX for a product targeting medical experts rather than the general population.

  • Experience working with research data to inform your designs and participating in user research studies.

  • A history of evangelizing design and advancing the discipline of UI/UX design within the company

  • Experience working in cross-functional teams (e.g. product, design, engineering, research) and comfortable with complex stakeholder management.

You enjoy:
