Key responsibilities ✨
- Define Experience Strategy and Lead Design End-to-end: Collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, and data scientists to shape experience strategy, influence roadmaps, and deliver high-impact solutions for key product initiative from initial problem framing to delivery.
- Design Human-AI Collaboration: Shape Malt’s approach to designing user interactions with AI-powered features (i.e. recommendations, agentic tools), applying best-in-class AI design patterns beyond traditional UI solutions.
- Prototype, Test & Optimize AI Experiences: Explore new AI concepts in close collaboration with data science and engineering peers, define success metrics, and continuously refine the AI experience based on user feedback.
- Lead User Research and Champion a Service Design Approach: Advocate for the needs of our users by leading research to gather deep insights and apply a service design approach to ensure a cohesive and efficient experience across all user touchpoints.
- Deliver High-quality Design: Craft intuitive and elegant solutions, guided by strong rationale, that effectively solve complex interaction problems.
- Evolve the Design System: Develop and steward our design system, ensuring a cohesive and consistent user experience across the entire product ecosystem.
- Inspire Design Excellence: Foster a culture of design excellence within the team by encouraging collaboration, promoting continuous learning, and sharing best practices.
- Communicate design rationale: Clearly articulate and present your design rationale and decisions to stakeholders at all levels, ensuring alignment and buy-in.
About you 🧑🚀
- 5+ years of experience in product design, with a strong portfolio showcasing a high level of strategic thinking and craft.
- A strong understanding of SaaS platforms and enterprise software, and a proven track record of shipping successful AI-powered products that have solved complex user problems and delivered measurable business value.
- Deep expertise in user-centered design principles and a genuine passion for creating exceptional product experiences.
- Proficiency in relevant design and prototyping tools such as Figma
- Experience leveraging AI tools to accelerate parts of the product design process.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships and influence cross-functional partners.
- A strategic mindset with the ability to think holistically about the user journey and the broader product ecosystem.
- A collaborative spirit and a desire to be part of a high-performing, ego-free team.
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment and comfort with iterative product development.
- Fluency in English is required.
- Experience designing for two-sided marketplaces.
- Experience designing within the HR tech or FinTech space.

- Interview with your future manager Caroline Caltagirone and/or our VP of Design, Stefanie Fleisch, to delve into your experience and the specifics of the role. (45 minutes)
- Deep Dive session with your future manager and members of the Design Team, where you will present a case study from your portfolio and work on a whiteboard design challenge (90 minutes).
- Cross-functional collaboration interview with one member of the Product Management team and one member of the Engineering team. (45 minutes)
- Final interview with the CPO, Belén Alomar, to discuss Malt’s long-term vision in terms of experience and the future of Design at Malt (30 min)
