At NavanCognition.ai, we’re building the next generation of AI-powered workforces. As a dedicated team within Navan (the all-in-one platform revolutionizing travel, corporate cards, and expense management), our mission is to advance the state of agentic AI. We are the builders of Navan Cognition: a multi-agent AI platform that has already transformed our internal operations by handling challenging, real-world business processes with a focus on reliability and accuracy. Now, we’re taking the next step by opening this technology up to other companies.
Joining our team means joining the frontline of AI innovation, crafting the foundation for a rapidly unfolding, AI-powered business era.
What you’ll do:
- Design the next-generation developer experience for the agentic AI world—defining how AI agents look, behave, and interact with users, and shaping the way developers collaborate with intelligent agents.
- Work closely with the Cognition product and engineering teams to create delightful and effective developer experiences for complex systems in the IDE space
- Prototype complete experiences (going beyond screens) to make an improved product and service feel tangible
- Present complex concepts in an easily digestible narrative to influence partners and stakeholders.
- Deeply understand the end-to-end user experience of developers, identifying workflow pain points and opportunities for AI augmentation
- Contribute to the design system for Navan Cognition, ensuring consistent, elegant, and developer-friendly UX patterns across the experience
- See your designs through from conception to in-product release—in the hands of real developer users.
- Conduct user research and combine with analytics to find actionable design improvements that boost user cognition, productivity, and satisfaction
What we’re looking for:
- 7+ years of strategic product design - preferably with a strong track record designing for developer tools, technical SaaS, or workflow and automation software in desktop environments (such as IDEs, code editors, or advanced productivity tools).
- Demonstrated experience designing elegant, usable experiences for highly complex systems, especially those supporting technical users (engineers, data scientists, etc.)
- A proven track record of driving and shipping impactful, high-quality work in B2B, or developer product spaces, with measurable impact on user adoption and engagement.
- A strong portfolio of work that demonstrates strong strategic thinking as well as a deep commitment to details, excellence, and craft.
- A belief that fast cycles of soliciting feedback is the way to continually raise the quality of your work and that excellence is found in the details. You’re excited to drive impact by balancing short term wins with long-term holistic experiences.
- A working knowledge of design thinking and user-centric practices that you can wield to define an innovative vision that you temper with a practical understanding of the technological, business and user opportunities and constraints.
- A team oriented mindset. You believe that designers are facilitators and know the best work is done with a team of diverse perspectives.
- Strong communication skills. You know that behind every design decision is a story to be told. Yes, we use Slack, but we also Zoom often–including with our colleagues in San Francisco.
- Enthusiasm and a growth mindset! Our team is composed of smart, curious, fun individuals who dive headfirst into the problems at hand and share a genuine enthusiasm for building the next generation travel platform.
