At Censys, our mission is to bring internet visibility and intelligence to the world’s security teams. Our platform not only identifies potential threats, but provides actionable insights and enables proactive defense strategies. Founded by researchers and practitioners, we are deeply committed to the quality, trustworthiness, and transparency of our data and results. As our own strongest critics, we continuously innovate to better understand the Internet and empower our customers with the visibility they need to succeed.

Role Summary:

We are looking for a Product Designer to help design our Internet Intelligence Platform™ (IIP™). This platform will unify our Attack Surface Management and Search products into a single, powerful solution, leveraging our industry-leading Global Internet Map. In this role, you will own the design and user experience around exposing threat intelligence and vulnerability datasets, contextual asset insights, and internet intelligence analytics at scale.

You will help build our enterprise SaaS product that enables security practitioners and analysts to explore and draw security insights from the most trusted and credible internet data (ours)! Censys processes terabytes of network data every day - it’s your job to help us leverage that data to provide valuable insights to our customers by building an easy-to-use, intuitive product.

Why Censys Sticks Out:

  • Humble Brilliance: We celebrate intelligence and foster a culture where tackling cybersecurity challenges is exciting and rewarding.
  • A Mosaic of Minds: Our diverse team brings together various talents and backgrounds, fostering true innovation through diverse perspectives.

  • Coffee-Fueled Collaboration: Collaboration is at the heart of our success, fueled by a shared passion for disrupting the cybersecurity scene.
  • Trailblazing Impact: Your innovations at Censys make waves in real-world cybersecurity, shaping the future and leaving a lasting legacy.
  • Life Beyond the Firewall: We prioritize work-life balance and support your well-being inside and outside the office.
  • Empowered Voices: Your voice matters at Censys; we champion an inclusive culture where diverse perspectives drive change.

What you’ll do:

  • Help shape the long term strategy and experience of datasets, asset context, and internet intelligence analytics and workflows by influencing leadership thinking at the executive level.
  • Lead user research and synthesis around understanding how our external and internal users interact with the Internet Intelligence Platform and bring that understanding to your product team, to inform how our products get built.
  • Lead design solutions that help scale our experiences while abstracting the complexities of our Global Internet Map.
  • Collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, Customer Success, and Research teams to design simple, intuitive solutions that empower users to gain meaningful insights from complex data at scale.
  • Define and align product and design strategy with stakeholders through the creation of task flows, journey maps, information hierarchies, wireframes, and prototypes.
  • Establish and maintain a consistent design language and branding across our product suite to ensure a cohesive, recognizable user experience.
  • Foster a design-centric culture within the organization, mentoring design teams and inspiring outstanding, user-focused solutions.

What you’ll bring:

  • Exceptional strategic thinking and ability to influence product direction across the organization, translating complex requirements into a clear, unified design strategy.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills, adept at deriving actionable insights from complex data to craft intuitive, user-centered experiences, with a proven ability to articulate design rationale for highly technical, data-intensive products.
  • Expertise in designing scalable, maintainable software, with a solid understanding of when to adhere to design standards versus exploring new solutions.
  • Thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced startup environment, showing adaptability in response to shifting priorities.
  • Ownership mindset with a commitment to continuous learning and improvement, both individually and within the team.

Required Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of Product Design experience, with demonstrated leadership in full lifecycle design for data-intensive SaaS products.
  • Advanced proficiency in Figma and experience with creating and implementing robust design systems.
  • Experience designing for cybersecurity SaaS products.
  • Deep understanding of user-centered design principles with experience applying them in complex problem spaces.
  • Strong capability in organizing and structuring complex datasets and workflows to create intuitive, user-friendly navigation and task flows, ensuring users can easily access and interpret critical insights.
  • Exceptional visual design skills and expertise in facilitating user research and translating feedback into actionable solutions.
  • Strong ability to influence and manage stakeholders across the business.
  • Have the ability to design whole systems, not just interface elements or static pages.
  • Understand the balance between perfect design and getting to market

Our target salary range for this role is between $175,000 - $191,000 USD + bonus eligibility and equity.

In addition to our great compensation package, our benefits are effective on day one and include but are not limited to 401k match, health, vision, dental, and more! Please see our careers page for more details.
