About Apptegy

Since 2015, Apptegy has grown from a small group of individuals working with a handful of Arkansas schools to a thriving community empowering thousands of schools and school districts across the United States. We build innovative products that simplify the demanding roles of school leaders, enabling them to brand, market, and strengthen their school’s identity, effortlessly. To achieve this, we are looking for talented individuals to shape and contribute to the success of our thoughtful and high-performing team.

Why You’ll Love This Job

As a Senior Product Designer at Apptegy, you will directly influence the experience of thousands of parents, teachers, and school staff as they work together to build better communities. You’ll own and execute high-impact design projects across our product areas while raising the standards of our visual design language. Your deep appreciation of design as a craft is reflected in the detail and thought you bring to each screen in each user flow. With a need to support both parent and teacher experiences, you will balance an evolving workload that spans different types of users, devices, and phases of the product evolution (ex: near-term vs future vision). You feel at home in this dynamic, fast-paced environment, and will have all the support you need to successfully navigate it.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead and elevate our product’s visual design language, fostering a cohesive and differentiated product identity that resonates with users and stands out in the EdTech landscape.
  • Utilize your strong product design foundation to create intuitive features that contribute to a holistic experience across web and mobile.
  • Seek and leverage user insights to guide and validate your design decisions.
  • Act as an in-house Figma expert, championing best practices and introducing new features that will assist the team and our stakeholders.
  • Drive the evolution and upkeep of our design system, ensuring consistency, scalability, and alignment across teams.
  • Survey the landscape of EdTech and product design to constantly bring fresh ideas, trends, and differentiators to the team and stakeholders.

Who You Are

  • You bring 3-5 years of experience crafting beautiful designs across web, mobile web, and native apps and are passionate about visual design.
  • You have worked on B2C products, with experience in the EdTech ecosystem is a plus.
  • You are an expert with time management and comfortable managing multiple projects at any given time.
  • You’ve all but mastered Figma and can use your experience to elevate our team’s use of the tool.
  • You are solution-oriented and resourceful, capable of sorting through ambiguity to drive outcomes.
  • You bias towards action; you’re not one to sit back and wait for direction.
  • Your portfolio demonstrates intuitive and modern designs that are both visually striking and compelling as effective solutions.
  • You are comfortable speaking in groups, sharing ideas and designs, and confident when defending your decisions.
  • You have a sense (or first-hand experience) of the challenges that teachers and parents face in a school system, and you’re excited to dig in deeper to help them out.

Why You'll Love Working With Us

We take our responsibility as a company seriously and aim to make this the best job that you’ve had (and one that sets you up for future success). We want your day at work and your time at home to be a joyful experience that’s why we provide:

--Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and life insurance coverage

--Retirement 401(k) with employer match

--Health Savings Accounts (HSA) and Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs)

--Mental Health Reimbursement

--Unlimited paid time off including seasonal (December) company-wide time off

--Paid parental and medical leave

We value thoughtfulness and high performance in all candidates as we progress through the interview stages. If the challenge of building a rapidly growing company excites you as much as it does us, we hope you’ll consider joining us.
