The Opportunity
We're looking for a Senior Product Designer to add dedicated design capacity across our patient platform. You'll own end-to-end craft for the core patient experience across both web and our mobile app. This role reports directly to the VP of Product.
Location: Hybrid (NYC). We value in-person collaboration and aim for at least three days per week in our NYC office, with flexibility as needed.
Your Impact
Design vision and strategy for the core patient experience (web + mobile app)
Apply and help evolve our design system as it matures, working from shared patterns rather than defining them solo
Partner day-to-day with product and engineering to ship high-quality, well-considered design on your surfaces
Conduct user research as needed for your work — interviews, usability testing, and behavioral analysis
Collaborate closely with our founding designer to keep the product experience cohesive across surfaces
Impact You’ll Drive
Design velocity that keeps pace with engineering growth
Reduced key-person risk, with design capacity no longer resting on a single generalist
High-craft, well-researched design on the surfaces you own
A stronger foundation for the design team as it grows into distinct domains
This role offers the opportunity to make a direct, hands-on impact on patient health outcomes through thoughtful, user-centered design, while growing alongside a design team that's just beginning to scale.
Required Qualifications
5+ years of product design experience with demonstrated impact on user experience and business outcomes
Experience contributing to and working within a design system, ideally across more than one product surface
Bachelor's degree in Design, HCI, Psychology, or related field (or equivalent professional experience)
Strong proficiency in Figma
Prototyping skills, creating interactive prototypes for user testing and stakeholder alignment
Experience conducting user research, interviews, usability testing, surveys, and behavioral analysis
Comfortable using data and user feedback to inform design decisions
Strong communication skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally with product, engineering, and clinical stakeholders
Comfortable with ambiguity and a fast-moving, early-stage environment
Experience mentoring junior designers a plus, though not required for this role

What We Do
Allara is a virtual care platform for women living with hormonal, metabolic, and gynecological conditions like PCOS, endometriosis, perimenopause, and thyroid disorders. These conditions affect millions of women, yet they remain under-diagnosed and under-treated. The typical patient spends years bouncing between disconnected specialists, repeating her story, and leaving without a clear plan. We exist to fix that broken experience. Allara brings OB/GYNs, Endocrinologists, Nurse Practitioners, and Registered Dietitians onto one connected care team. Instead of treating a single symptom in isolation, our clinicians look at the whole picture, from labs and medication to nutrition and lifestyle, and build a coordinated, evidence-based plan for each member. Care is delivered virtually, on the member's schedule, with the kind of continuity that traditional healthcare rarely offers for these conditions. Making that possible takes serious technology and clinical infrastructure. Our team builds and scales the systems behind the entire member journey: care delivery and messaging, scheduling, clinical and provider workflows, data pipelines, and the member-facing experience. Every part of the product connects directly to how well we can treat people. We treat women's health as the serious, science-backed field it has always deserved to be, and we're growing quickly in a market that legacy healthcare has overlooked for decades. It's a rare combination: a large, meaningful problem, real momentum, and a team small enough that your work is visible and matters.
Why Work With Us
We're a small, fast-moving team where engineers own real systems end to end and ship quickly. Modern stack, meaty problems, and a short line from your work to patient outcomes. If you want to build in a space finally getting the investment it deserves, this is the place.
