This role requires a systems mindset, exceptional design craft, and the ability to influence across multiple teams. You'll partner closely with Product Design, Engineering, Accessibility, Research, and Product leaders to solve complex design challenges at scale while continuously improving how designers and engineers build products together.
You'll also play a key role in exploring and adopting emerging AI-powered tools and workflows that improve design quality, increase efficiency, and enable the next generation of design system capabilities.
Design Systems Leadership
Lead the design and evolution of reusable components, patterns, design foundations, and interaction standards that scale across multiple products and platforms. Balance consistency with flexibility to enable product innovation while maintaining a cohesive user experience.
Solve complex, ambiguous design problems by identifying patterns across products and translating them into scalable system solutions. Develop thoughtful component behaviors, APIs, interaction models, accessibility requirements, and implementation guidance.
Partner closely with Product Designers, Design System Engineers, Front-End Engineers, Product Managers, and Accessibility experts to ensure component quality, adoption, and seamless implementation across the organization.
Actively experiment with emerging AI-powered design tools and workflows to improve component creation, documentation, governance, quality assurance, and team productivity. Identify opportunities where AI can responsibly accelerate design workflows while maintaining high standards of quality, accessibility, and usability.
Help establish contribution models, governance processes, documentation standards, and review practices that ensure the long-term health and scalability of the Design System. Measure adoption and continuously improve the system based on user feedback and organizational needs.
Build trusted relationships across Design, Product, and Engineering organizations. Advocate for scalable design solutions and influence product teams to leverage the Design System while balancing business needs and user outcomes.
Mentor designers across the organization in systems thinking, accessibility, component design, and modern design workflows. Share best practices and foster a culture of continuous learning, experimentation, and design excellence.
