About the Role
As a Senior Product Designer on PLM Solutions Design team, you will lead end-to-end design for critical areas of Windchill, shaping both the user experience and the direction of the product. You’ll work closely with Product Management and Engineering to define problems, explore solutions, and deliver high-quality outcomes in a highly complex domain. You will work closely with other designers on the team and beyond to contribute to the evolution of our design system and help establish patterns and best practices that scale across teams and products.
In this role, you will:
- Lead end-to-end complex product experience design projects, defining interaction, behavior, workflows and information architecture for Windchill NextGen UX.
- Plan and execute structured discovery and usability research, validate design concepts with the users to ensure design decisions are rooted in solving real user problems
- Influence roadmap prioritization through user insights and design direction
- Collaborate closely with a global team of product managers, designers, and engineers to deliver valuable, high-quality features that balance product requirements, technical constraints, and user needs and motivations.
- Leverage and contribute to PTC’s design system to ensure a cohesive experience across the PTC product suite
- Advocate for high-quality design and help raise the bar through collaboration, critique, and shared standards
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in HCI/UX, Human Factors, Interaction Design, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 6+ years of professional product design experience.
- A portfolio demonstrating end-to-end product design, from discovery through delivery, including complex workflows and shipped outcomes.
Skills and preferred qualifications
- Strong ability to synthesize user research, product requirements, and technical constraints into clear design solutions
- Ability to communicate, articulate your design decisions, advocate for the users in prioritization conversations, and consider feedback from product managers, engineers, and other designers.
- Expertise designing rich interactive applications for web and/or desktop.
- Adept with tools like Figma (preferred) or Adobe Creative Suite.
Bonus skills (a plus, but not required)
- Experience in PLM or other industrial / data-heavy enterprise software
Compensation (CIP)
PTC carefully considers a wide variety of factors when determining compensation. The anticipated annual salary range for this position is between $102,500 - 135,000. The salary range reflects a good-faith estimate of compensation at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on a candidate's skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Additionally, candidates may be eligible for a performance-based bonus. Employees also have the opportunity to become a PTC shareholder through our employee share purchase program (ESPP), which allows for the purchase of discounted PTC stock. Certain roles may also be eligible for participation in our equity programs. Employees may be eligible for medical, dental and vision insurance, paid time off and sick leave, tuition reimbursement, 401(k) contributions and employer match, flexible spending accounts, life insurance, disability coverage and, if you are an office-assigned employee, a generous commuter subsidy.
