Readdle is a pioneering force in the personal productivity space on Apple devices, having shaped the landscape since 2007. Our mission is to empower individuals and teams with innovative technology, enhancing their efficiency and creativity. We are dedicated to crafting exceptional mobile and desktop experiences for those who aspire to achieve more.

PDF Expert, our flagship product, is more than just a PDF editor. It’s one of the most loved PDF apps, trusted by over 30 million people worldwide to read, edit, annotate, and manage PDFs across Mac, iPad, and iPhone. Recognized as “App of the Year,” an “Apple Editor’s Choice,” and a Red Dot Design Award winner, PDF Expert sets the standard for effortless document workflows.

As a Senior Product Designer, you’ll own and improve the core experience of PDF Expert across our iOS, iPadOS, and macOS apps, from how people open, navigate, and organize documents to the editing and annotation tools they use every day. You’ll find the problems that matter most to our users, come up with new product ideas, and turn them into well-crafted solutions. You’ll also help level up our design system and shape how our team designs with AI.

Our Design Approach:

We design with a clear focus on impact, whether that’s a better user experience, stronger product performance, or meaningful business outcomes. Our approach is shaped by five guiding principles:

  • Lead by design. Design is the driving force behind our product’s evolution. We take the initiative to shape the future of PDF Expert, lead cross-functional collaboration, and work on projects that directly influence the direction of the product.
  • High craft. We care about precision and detail, because quality is what users notice and remember.
  • Data informed. From user insights to product analytics, our decisions are backed by evidence, so our solutions meet both user needs and business goals.
  • Customer obsessed. Our users are at the heart of everything we do. We continuously gather feedback and conduct research to understand their needs, behaviors, and pain points.
  • Impact driven. We design for measurable results, whether that’s higher engagement, better product performance, or direct contribution to company growth.

In this role, you will:

  • Own the PDF Expert core experience end to end: make the workflows people use every day clearer, more consistent, and faster to get through, and drive measurable growth in engagement and retention
  • Identify the highest-impact problems using research, analytics, and user feedback, and turn them into a clear, prioritized set of opportunities
  • Generate new product ideas and hypotheses, validate them quickly, and take the strongest ones from concept to launch
  • Lead a systematic effort to fix long-standing usability issues and inconsistencies across key user journeys
  • Level up our design system together with Engineering: build scalable patterns for complex workflows and improve its quality and adoption
  • Make AI a core part of your design process for exploration, prototyping, and validation, and lead the way in how the team designs with AI.

About you:

  • 6+ years of experience in product design, with shipped work on complex products. A portfolio with case studies showing your process and results is a must
  • A high level of craft: precise visual and interaction design and strong attention to detail
  • Strong problem-solving skills and product thinking, with the ability to think creatively and strategically to tackle complex and ambiguous design challenges
  • Proven experience building or scaling a design system in close collaboration with Engineering
  • Experience designing native apps for macOS and/or iOS, with a strong feel for platform conventions
  • You’re proficient with AI tools and always looking for new ways to use AI to optimize the design process
  • Strong sense of ownership: you spot opportunities and problems yourself, take responsibility for them, and drive the work through to results
  • Excellent English communication, presentation, and storytelling skills, with the ability to advocate for new ideas

What you will get at Readdle:

  • Customer-centric culture. We put our users at the heart of everything we do. Every team member has the opportunity to engage directly with customers, gaining insights that shape meaningful, delightful experiences for millions worldwide.
  • Relentless growth. We’re committed to mastery in our craft. We take ownership of our work, decisions, and outcomes, and we see feedback as a catalyst for growth. Every challenge is an opportunity to learn, evolve, and raise the bar.
  • Exceptional people, exceptional team. Our greatest strength is our people. We care deeply about each other, work transparently, and celebrate collective success. Together, we build an environment where everyone can do their best work and grow beyond their potential.
  • Real impact. We design products that truly matter. Our focus is on delivering tangible value, simplifying complexity, pushing boundaries, and continuously improving how we build and deliver solutions to our users.
