Property managers run their businesses from their phones: approving bookings, messaging guests, fixing problems at 11pm from a different city. Our mobile app is where that happens, for operators ranging from single-property hosts to enterprise teams managing thousands of units, and for the guests they host.

The app until today grew feature by feature in order to have parity with the web based dashboard. The app is a major part of our product offering and needs a coherent design and identity. You'll be the designer who gives it one. This is a senior individual contributor role on the mobile team, working with a PM, an EM and 4 engineers building on React Native for the app and play store.

Our design source of truth is code, not Figma. Designers on this team prototype and iterate in Claude Code against our real design system, and we use Figma less every month.

If you already work this way, you'll feel at home. If the idea excites you and you can show you've been moving in that direction, we want to talk. If you'd rather stay Figma-first, this probably isn't the right team.

• Revamp the whole mobile application to match Hostaway’s new design language. This will include making improvements to some of our most critical features such as the Multi Listing Calendar view for managing reservations.

• We will have three main personas to serve: The property management team, the Owners of the properties and the operations teams for cleaning and maintenance. Each has their own set of needs and the application will adapt to serve them.

• And the most exciting challenge. Integrating AI in to all of the workflows of our users. How can we surface the important information at the right time and improve their day to day running of their business.

• At 6 months: you've shipped the mobile application revamp with the new design language, we are currently working on this and using AI to build the UI, so this will be a fast moving and exciting piece of work. Also, after 6 months the mobile team comes to you for the call on design trade-offs. You are the lead of that product and everyone knows it.

• At 12 months: the app has a clear design direction you defined, and you can point to a measurable change in areas of adoption and retention of features in our most important user segments.

• Have shipped native mobile products where you made the key product and design decisions, not just executed them. Your portfolio shows the trade-offs, not just the screens.

• Have strong judgment on platform conventions, and know when to follow iOS and Android patterns and when to break them.

• Prototype in code or are actively moving that way, and use AI tools in your process with clear opinions on where they help and where they don't.

• Can run your own research and turn messy B2B workflows into simple mobile experiences.

• Have influenced what a team built through influence and evidence, not authority.

• B2B SaaS or operational tools (scheduling, logistics, field service, marketplaces)

• Designing for both a business user and their customer in one product

• A people management role

• A Figma-first or handoff-only role

• A role with a research team doing discovery for you
