Overview:
Staff Product Designers at Weedmaps are senior individual contributors who operate with a high degree of autonomy and strategic influence. The impact you'll make:
- Lead end-to-end design for large, complex, or ambiguous problem spaces across multiple teams or product areas
- Partner closely with Product, Engineering, Data, Research, and Leadership to define strategy, scope initiatives, and drive alignment
- Translate business objectives and user needs into cohesive, high-impact design solutions
- Break down complex systems and workflows into intuitive, scalable experiences
- Serve as a key contributor to the evolution and governance of the design system
- Drive discovery efforts, including research planning, synthesis, and validation
- Use qualitative and quantitative data to inform decisions and measure impact
- Clearly communicate design rationale to diverse stakeholders, influencing decision-making at multiple levels
- Actively mentor senior and mid-level designers through critique, guidance, and knowledge sharing
- Champion design excellence, accessibility, and consistency across platforms (mobile and web)
What you've accomplished:
- 7+ years of professional experience in end-to-end product design
- A strong portfolio demonstrating leadership on complex design initiatives, with clear articulation of impact and decision-making
- Proven ability to independently lead large-scale projects from concept through execution
- Deep experience with usability testing, research synthesis, and data-informed design
- Extensive experience working with and evolving design systems
- Demonstrated success designing for B2C and/or B2B SaaS products
Bonus points:
- Strong strategic thinking and problem-framing skills
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management abilities
- Knowledge of front-end development concepts (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
- Experience facilitating design workshops, sprints, and cross-functional working sessions
