Your mission
We’re looking for a Senior Product Designer to drive the design of the multimodal passenger experience at BlaBlaCar. In this role, you’ll spend the majority of your time (around 75%) leading hands-on design work, owning complex projects across the entire passenger journey, from discovery and multimodal search (carpool, bus, train) to booking, managing, and support.
Alongside your design contributions, you’ll also support and grow a small team of two designers who report directly to you. You’ll provide them with guidance, feedback and mentorship, while helping the team stay aligned with strategic goals.
You’ll report to the Head of Design and collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, Research, Content Design, Product Marketing, and our Design System Manager to deliver thoughtful, seamless, and scalable user experiences across markets.
Your responsibilities
• Define and solve user problems using insights from data, research, and BlaBlaCar’s strategic objectives.
• Design and iterate end-to-end flows, from concept to QA, using the design system for consistency and speed
• Facilitate strong collaboration across design, product, engineering, and content teams
• Define and apply market benchmarks and best practices to drive innovation
• Foster a culture of design excellence and continuous learning within your team
• Balance hands-on design work with people management responsibilities
• Continuously refine solutions based on performance data, user feedback, and market trends
• Manage, mentor, and inspire a team of product designers, providing clear direction, feedback, and development support
Your qualifications
• 7+ years of experience designing user-centric solutions across mobile, web, and desktop, with at least 2 years in a management or mentoring role
• Proven experience managing, mentoring, or coaching other designers, including performance development and feedback
• Proficient in Figma
• End-to-end leadership across the entire design process, from concept to delivery
• Strong ability to simplify complex journeys into scalable, intuitive experiences
• Customer centric and obsessed by our clients problems
• Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
• Strength in visual and content design aligned with brand and UX guidelines
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
• Self-starter and high autonomy
• Fluent in English
