The role
SoFi is seeking a Product Designer for our Lending team.
At SoFi we have a huge responsibility to help people borrow money to achieve financial independence and realize their ambitions.
Although borrowing money can often feel overwhelming and complex, our role as product designers at SoFi is to ensure that the overall experience minimizes friction. Our responsibility is to shape the future of loan products and personal finance by delivering designs for new features and improving current experiences to better serve our members as they make payments on their SoFi loans.
The lending journey for our members can be summarized in two key milestones: first, applying for a loan, and second, ensuring timely payments after the loan is funded. You will work with teams that enhance Sofi Lending Review operators to get your loan approved quickly by developing technology-driven solutions, helping members manage their loan payments, and providing programs and innovative solutions to support them during financial hardship. You will collaborate within a specific product area alongside product managers, engineers, and researchers to create experiences that transform the lending landscape and deliver well-thought-out, cohesive experiences for our members.

Responsibilities:
- Design product features and improvements from start-to-finish across mobile and web platforms
- Partner with product, content design, data science, engineering, and research to create well-articulated experiment plans and shape the product roadmap
- Incorporate data insights and user research to develop solutions that delight our customers
- Rapidly produce multiple concepts and prototypes, knowing when to apply pixel-perfect attention to detail, and when to make low-fi sketches and prototypes
- Work closely with your design manager, product leads, and cross-functional partners to quickly iterate based on feedback and industry best practices (across finance and tech)
- Present design concepts and clearly communicate design intent through design specs and presentations
- Work with established design systems to ensure consistency and scalability while contributing to their evolution as product experiences change and grow
Required Experience
- 3+ years of experience working in product design/UX roles or an equivalent degree in a related field
- Excellent portfolio that demonstrates love and care for your craft, evidence of business impact, and experience with experimentation for learning
- Ability to adapt quickly and work independently in a fast-paced environment with shifting constraints
- Proficient skills in Figma and familiarity with other design tools in the Adobe Creative Suite
- Strong product sensitivity and strong design point of view
- Positive and resilient attitude embracing input with a desire for continuous iteration and improvement
- Knowledge of mobile and web UX best practices across iOS, Android and responsive web
- Experience collaborating across cross-functional teams, including product management, engineering and marketing
- Ability to understand user research, user needs and product data as input into design solutions
- Skills in clearly presenting work and rationale while advocating for user needs
- A portfolio URL or PDF to submit with the application with examples of mobile and responsive web product design
Preferred Experience
- Experience working on financial products
- Experience working on multi-phased, long-term initiatives
- Experience with responsive web applications
Compensation and Benefits
The base pay range for this role is listed below. Final base pay offer will be determined based on individual factors such as the candidate’s experience, skills, and location.
