Senior Subject Matter Expert - Computer Vision

Summary :

The Senior Subject Matter Expert (SME) - Computer Vision provides deep technical expertise on face recognition and liveness technologies to ensure Amadeus solutions are robust, secure, compliant, and operationally fit for purpose. The role supports product, engineering and research teams across the full lifecycle, from design and validation to deployment and operational support. 

In this role you will

Key Accountabilities 

• Act as the technical authority for face biometrics, including face recognition, liveness detection, and related technologies. 

• Provide expert input and validation during solution design, architecture reviews, and technical decision‑making. 

• Support investigation, diagnosis, and resolution of biometric‑related issues impacting performance, accuracy, or reliability. 

• Advise teams on hardware and sensor considerations (e.g. cameras, environmental constraints) affecting biometric quality. 

• Contribute to the definition and maintenance of technical standards, best practices, and guidelines for face biometrics. 

• Collaborate with product, platform, research and engineering teams to ensure end‑to‑end coherence of biometric solutions. 

• Support internal and external stakeholders during incidents, escalations, and customer discussions requiring biometric expertise. 

Scope & Impact 

• Applies expertise across multiple products, components, or initiatives involving face biometrics. 

• Influences architectural and technical choices through expert advice, without formal people or delivery management responsibility. 

• Acts as a reference and escalation point for biometric topics within the organization. 

• Performs laboratory experiments to gather data and assess the effectiveness of systems and algorithms. Prepares and issues reports to communicate findings and inform decisions.

• Strong expertise in face recognition and liveness detection technologies. 
• Solid understanding of biometric system constraints, including hardware, environment, and operational context. 
• Experience addressing biometric performance and quality challenges. 
• Ability to communicate complex technical topics clearly to technical and non‑technical stakeholders. 
• Analytical mindset with strong problem‑solving skills. 
• Works closely with cross‑functional teams in a collaborative and advisory role. 
• Engaged both proactively during design phases and reactively during operational support when needed. 
• Focused on technical excellence, pragmatism, and knowledge sharing.
