The External Producer will primarily support Sumo Digital to engage with clients and partners across China and wider Asia region. They will be responsible for nurturing strategic client and partner relationships, and managing high-impact initiatives that support Sumo’s growth across Asia and China as a best-in-class co-development and art services provider. This includes both expanding opportunities with customers and developing partnerships with external providers to strengthen our delivery capabilities. The role will be expected to flex between supporting multiple projects and being able to run single projects as circumstances and priorities demand.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in game development, ideally from a Production background. The ability to speak Mandarin is essential for this role.
Job requirements
- Fluent in Chinese (Mandarin required and Cantonese advantageous).
- Significant production experience shipping titles working with external partners and co-development teams.
- Demonstrable experience leading and developing relationships – a people person who can navigate cultural sensitivities and develop meaningful trusted advisor partnerships with multiple and varied stakeholders.
- Solid commercial acumen and negotiation skills.
Job responsibilities
- End to end project and production management includes project leadership, budgets, scheduling, risk management, change management and conflict resolution
- A confident communicator and influencer who represents Sumo’s strategic objectives across a wide portfolio of partners and clients.
- The ability to champion and market Sumo’s services to a variety of clients and partners alongside Business Development and studio leadership.
- The ability to investigate potential partnerships, support onboarding and act as Production or client liaison point of contact where required.
- Able to navigate and resolve issues, mitigate risk and ensure great partner experience throughout development processes.
