The Team

The Senior Procurement Specialist, Indirects will join the Procurement team and serve as a strategic partner to the business, providing expert guidance on optimizing external spend through process redesign, policy development, and control implementation. The individual will lead cross-functional procurement initiatives across key categories including Professional Services, Commercial, IT, and HR. As a recognized expert in general / indirect procurement, the role will interpret complex sourcing challenges and recommend best practices and solutions. 

Role and Responsibilities

  • Lead cross-functional procurement initiatives across key indirect categories to drive strategic sourcing outcomes.

  • Design and implement procurement controls and policies, ensuring alignment with business and compliance requirements.

  • Act as a subject matter expert in identifying policy and control gaps and recommending improvements.

  • Ensure global execution of procurement policies across a complex vendor landscape to maximize commercial value.

  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance commercial control and drive efficiency.

  • Evaluate third-party vendors to ensure measurable commercial benefit and strategic alignment.

  • Partner with Finance and Business teams to resolve procurement pain points and deliver fit-for-purpose solutions.

  • Mentor and guide junior procurement team members and offshore procurement support.

  • Collaborate with C-suite stakeholders to influence procurement strategy and program design.

  • Stay ahead of industry trends, promoting best practice adoption and representing Mundipharma on external panels

What you’ll bring

  • MCIPS qualified with Level 4 CIPS certification; Lean/Six Sigma Master Black Belt preferred.

  • General procurement (indirect) experience across a number of categories (corporate services, professional services, IT)

  • Proven track record of delivering tangible savings across multiple indirect procurement categories.

  • Experience designing and enforcing global procurement policies and controls.

  • Expertise in leading change within a global matrix environment.

  • Capable of working with third-party procurement providers to deliver on strategic goals.

  • Skilled in project management and confident working directly with senior leadership.

  • Strategic thinker with the ability to balance competing category and stakeholder priorities.

  • Advanced analytical skills, able to use Excel and other tools to derive insights and guide action.

  • Recognised industry expert, forward-thinking, and active in procurement best practice communities.
