Senior Procurement Category Manager - Corporate Services

This is a fantastic opportunity to join the Corporate Services Procurement team, developing category strategies with a global remit working with global stakeholders.    We are looking for a procurement professional who can create impact, thrive within a dynamic environment and be resilient to change.

Corporate Services Procurement is unique due to its broad range of categories, this makes working in this team both interesting and challenging, allowing the role holder to build a network across the business like no other category.  Corporate Services at Dyson includes:

• HR Services (Recruitment, Executive Search, Benefits, Learning and Development, Global Mobility)
• Professional Services (Consulting Services and Legal Services)
• Financial Services (Insurance, Audit, Tax, Payroll, Payment solutions including e-commerce)
• Travel (Travel management company, Air, Hotel, Ground transport)

In this role you will mainly be responsible for Professional and Financial Services but will have the opportunity to broaden your experience into the other categories.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage category and sub-category strategies to drive improved performance and optimise value to Dyson
• Lead on global and strategic tenders across any category as required
• Coaching the team, sharing knowledge and experience to deliver the best results
• Develop and continually review robust, forward looking global category plans based on business needs taking into account regional and national differences.
• Influence the businesses through strong stakeholder and relationship management.
• Role model the Dyson Behaviours appropriate to both individual and the role both leading self and leading others; ingenious, explorer, fighter and shrewd.
• Demonstrate a positive attitude and inspire confidence when faced with uncertainty and change.
• Know how to be at your best and what motivates you.  Inspire others, providing energy and engagement.
• Provide clear direction in the creation and execution of category plans.
• Bring drive, energy and pace to category activity.
• A reputation for delivery that quickly earns credibility but also has clear strategic direction.

Skills

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent (MCIPs desirable).
• Proven experience managing Corporate Services subcategories through the whole life cycle, from strategy creation through procurement to supplier management.
• Experience of working in a global matrix organisation and managing global tenders delivering excellent results to tight deadlines.
• Confidence and credibility with excellent communication and relationship management skills with the ability to engage and influence senior level stakeholders up to Board level.
• Sustains personal energy, self-motivation and productivity and encourages good resilience in others.
• Capability to achieve not only the best service from a category but also able to create global competitive advantages and performance by actively removing complexity.
• Commercially astute and with proven ability to solve problems and to drive decision making.
• Strong negotiation skills.
• Makes time for personal development – for you and coaching others in immediate and wider team.
• Knowledge of Ariba is an advantage.
