We are looking for a Senior Process Specialist/Process specialist to join a dynamic team of experienced pulping process development professionals in our Pulp Competence Centre. Your location will be Karlstad (Skoghall), Gävle (Skutskär) or Stockholm (Sickla). The position is permanent and will be filled as soon as possible.

About the position

Pulp Competence Centre is an expert unit in Stora Enso that supports all our chemical pulp mills with services including operational improvements, technical support and process development. The team works in process & technology improvement area and supports the development of future products and processes.

Typical tasks include trouble shooting, value creation/development projects, new process development and design, process control design and tuning, training, commissioning and start up work. The Fiberline and Process control team is working in the area from wood raw material to final produced pulp delivered to end users. The team members are based in several locations in Sweden and Finland.

Your main task will be to lead and support development projects and process optimization performed together with our pulp mills in the fiberline area. In your work you will have frequent contact with our mills and you also perform a part of your projects at the mill sites. As the work is done in close co-operation with our pulp mills it demands good interpersonal skills and an open mindset.

Who we are looking for

We are looking for a person who is analytical, systematic, open-minded and willing to take new initiatives. You have natural accountability to your tasks and enjoy delivering results. You will work in a world class team and in a multicultural environment. The position requires traveling.

Your proficiency is based on a university level degree in pulping, chemical engineering, automation, or similar. We are looking for a person who has a wide understanding and experience related to fiberline processes and operations. You preferably have a minimum of 10 years of work experience from a pulp mill operations or development, but also less experienced engineers will be considered.

You are familiar with distributed control systems (DCS). An excellent knowledge of data analysis tools like Wedge or similar is needed to succeed in the position. We use Lean and Six Sigma -tools and it is an advantage if you are certified Green or Black belt. Experience in simulation systems like WinGEMS and interest and knowledge in process control area is seen as a benefit. 

We expect that you have specialist knowledge in some of the unit processes within fiberline area.

You are fluent in English and Swedish, both spoken and written. Finnish or other language skills is seen as a merit.

    Skills Required
