The Watercare team has a vacancy for a Senior Process Engineer, a role well suited to an engineer with several years of water treatment design experience seeking to augment that with operational experience.
As a Senior Process Engineer, you will be involved in work ranging from hands-on operational trouble-shooting to initiating, delivering, and commissioning of small to medium improvement projects.
The key tasks of the role include:
- Providing technical support to the operations and engineering team
- Conducting process analysis and develop specific test methodologies for process optimisation
- Trouble-shooting plant issues affecting process performance.
- Managing and delivering improvement projects to improve plant performance and reliability
- Reviewing planning investigation briefs and consultant submissions and providing operational information
- Supporting the projects/commissioning team with on-site upgrades and improvement works
- Participating in an out-of-hours callout roster, which provides emergency coverage for our water treatment plants

In this role you will bring:
- A Washington Accord accredited bachelor's degree in either Chemical and Materials Engineering, Mechanical/Mechatronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Civil Engineering.
- 6+ years' experience in an engineering/operations environment, preferably in the water/wastewater industry.
- A strong drive to develop knowledge and understanding of the water industry
- Thorough understanding of HSE Regulations/Hazardous Substance Regulations and process safety concepts
- Proven competence in process control, process design, process issue troubleshooting/analysis.
- Effective project management skills
- Experience in data analysis, plant processes and report preparation
- Current NZ Full Driver’s license
