Job Description:
The senior process engineer is responsible for managing projects to develop, improve, and maintain engineering processes. This role applies business acumen, Allison product and process knowledge, and technical experience to drive quality execution and compliance across the engineering function.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze engineering processes to identify areas for improvement
- Collaborate with subject matter experts and other stakeholders to improve key processes that enable engineering activities
- Develop, update, and maintain technical documentation for engineering processes
- Design and lead targeted training to improve engineering execution
- Assess compliance against established engineering process documentation and IATF quality standards
- Provide ongoing support for engineering teams to appropriately tailor and implement engineering processes
- Manage projects as assigned
- Communicate effectively with project stakeholders via meetings, interviews, presentations, and written correspondence
Qualifications and Experience:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, engineering technology or demonstrated equivalent experience in prior roles
- 5+ years experience with product design and product development processes, including DVP&R and DFMEA
- 5+ years experience working effectively in cross-discipline teams
- Ability to organize tasks, documentation, and project deliverables
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English)
- Proficient with MS Office 365 – PowerPoint, Excel, Project, Teams, SharePoint, and Visio
Preferred:
- Familiarity with Quality Management System Standards including ISO 9001 and IATF 16949
- Demonstrated proactive approach to problem solving
- Product development experience across multiple engineering environments
- Experience managing a project with 3 or more team members
