Who are we looking for? 

In response to steady growth within our Water/Wastewater business, our Design Delivery Organization (DDO) is looking to bring onboard an accomplished Senior Process Engineer to serve as a key technical catalyst, integrating advanced process expertise into the delivery of complex wastewater treatment projects across the United States. Working alongside the firm’s national experts, you will collaborate with regional Project Managers and Client Service Managers to translate complex engineering fundamentals into practical engineering solutions, while simultaneously mentoring junior staff and elevating the firm’s profile through active participation in professional organizations and conferences.

This position can be based in most of our US East regional offices. Other locations throughout the US will also be considered.

Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:

  • Executing advanced process designs for municipal and industrial wastewater facilities, focusing on nutrient removal, biosolids management, and improving efficiency.
  • Collaborating with senior national experts to implement innovative and emerging wastewater treatment technologies on high-profile projects.
  • Mentoring and providing technical direction to junior process engineers to ensure their professional growth and project quality.
  • Assisting with technical proposals, specifically crafting the process approach and project-specific innovative solutions.
  • Conducting complex process modeling (BioWin, Sumo, or GPS-X) following modeling best practices.
  • Performing detailed technical reviews (QA/QC) of design calculations, reports, and drawings produced by the project team.
  • Facilitating technical workshops for clients to help them evaluate process alternatives and long-term capital improvements.
  • Supporting on-site facility startups and operational troubleshooting, providing real-world feedback to the design team.
  • Engaging with equipment manufacturers to stay current on the latest technology trends and evaluating their performance for specific applications.
  • Managing bench-scale and pilot-scale studies, ensuring data integrity and providing scale-up recommendations for full-scale design.
  • Developing Multi-Criteria and Life Cycle Cost Analyses to help clients make informed decisions between traditional and advanced treatment paths.
  • Active participation with regional and national professional organizations through conferences and committees to stay at the forefront of industry shifts and build a professional network

What you will bring to the team:

  • Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering
  • Professional Engineer license
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in wastewater treatment design and research
  • Ability to lead process engineering for a large complex wastewater treatment project
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with proven ability to develop, mentor and lead professional technical staff
  • Strong business development, proposal preparation, and marketing skills
  • Flexible and able to meet challenging deadlines
  • Strong client focus

Benefits:

  • 401K - Employees are eligible to participate on the first day of the month following 3 months of service
  • Paid time off – Our PTO benefit is designed to provide eligible employees with a period of rest and relaxation, sick, and personal time throughout the year. PTO starts at 16 days per year and increases with years of service
  • Holiday Pay - Holiday pay is provided for eligible employees. GHD observes 9 holidays per year. Holiday pay will be based on the regular set schedule for the employee
  • Wellness Benefit- Regular full-term employees are eligible to participate in the wellness reimbursement program. GHD will reimburse 50% of the cost of the following to maximum of $250.00 reimbursement annually for such items as: Health club membership fees, home exercise equipment purchases, Bicycles, Race, run & marathon entrance fees, Smoking cessation programs, Weight loss programs (i.e.—Weight Watchers, Jenny Craig), Fitbits and Fitness Tracking devices

Salary Range: $94,000-$188,000 based on experience and location.

Skills Required
