Job Description
The role of Senior Process Engineer is to provide engineering solutions in support of business objectives, using both internal and external resources as required, especially as bridge between company process technology and local design institute. The engineer will perform early-stage engineering including feasibility studies and option evaluation, and work with the rest of the Process Design group to develop those efforts into capital projects. The successful candidate will work effectively in multidisciplinary teams at multiple sites, leading the process design effort to accomplish business, environmental, and safety goals with little to no direct oversight.
Key Accountabilities
- Perform detailed engineering calculations (heat and material balances, hydraulics, heat transfer, etc.), or capable to review design institute's engineering calculations. (25%)
- Write technical reports to document basis of design and/or justify recommendations (25%)
- Data collection and review (equipment files, operating data, maintenance records, technical reports, industry standards, etc.) in support of deliverables (25%)
- Develop project P&ID's and Process Flow Diagrams (10%)
- Develop work processes and engineering standards (10%)
- Provide process data sheets for equipment and instrumentation (5%)
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree or above in Chemical Engineering or related field.
Experience:
- 15+ years Process Design Engineering or related field
- Process design package development experience is preferred
- Working experience in process of polymerization and/or process of disinfectant, cleaning agent, etc is preferred
Knowledge:
- Knowledge of GB SH, ANSI, OSHA, ASME, API and other code and regulatory requirements.
- Good analytical abilities and adept at problem solving. Presentation of calculations and results in an organized manner and orderly record keeping are necessary skills.
- Expansive knowledge of the chemical industry and process engineering work processes
Licensure & Certifications
- Registered Process Engineer certification is preferred
- HAZOP/PHA professional training completion certificate (such as TUV, or China Chemical Safety Association) is preferred
Travel Requirement
- 50% travel requirement during project execution period.
General Work Environment
- Role is for Projects execution in APAC, mainly in China.
